Chika Joy Amalaha (born 28 October 1997) is a Nigerian weightlifter. In 2019 she tested positive for metenolone and is banned until 2027 by the International Weightlifting Federation. [2]
Amalaha won the gold medal in the women's 53 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, [3] and set a new Games records in 53 kg weight category in both the snatch and overall elements.
She later failed a drug test, [4] and was temporarily banned from continuing the Games on 29 July 2014 after Amiloride and Hydrochlorothiazide were found in her A sample. Her B sample was then sent for testing the following day, which returned positive to prohibited substances. [5] Following the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) scheduled meeting with Amalaha on 1 August 2014, she was subsequently stripped of her medal [6] As a result, Dika Toua of Papua New Guinea was awarded gold, Santoshi Matsa of India silver and Swati Singh, also of India, bronze.
Amalaha was subsequently handed a two-year doping ban. The ban ended 25 July 2016. [7]
Competitors at the Olympic Games have used banned athletic performance-enhancing drugs.

In 2022, the medal was stripped and he was banned when it was revealed he substituted urine samples.

Chanu won the gold medals at the 2014 Glasgow and the 2018 Gold Coast events in the women's 48 kg and 53 kg weight category respectively. She holds the Commonwealth Games record of 84 kg for the Snatch segment in the latter weight category.

Matsa had originally finished in bronze medal position, but the gold medal winner Chika Amalaha of Nigeria failed a drug test, elevating Matsa to silver medal position. Santoshi lifted a total of 188 kg — 83 kg in snatch and 105 in clean and jerk.
Swati Singh is an Indian weightlifter who won the bronze medal in the women's 53 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. Singh had originally finished fourth but the gold medal winner Chika Amalaha of Nigeria failed a drug test, elevating Singh to bronze medal position. In 2019 she tested positive for Morphine and was banned until 2021 by the International Weightlifting Federation.
Marie Hanitra Roilya Ranaivosoa, commonly known as Roilya Ranaivosoa, is a Mauritian weightlifter of Malagasy descent, competing in the 48 kg category and representing Mauritius at international competitions.

Bilikis Abiodun Otunla is a Nigerian weightlifter. She competed in the 2015 African Games and she won gold medals in the women's 69 kg category - Clean and jerk 1ST (Gold), Women's 69 – 75 kg category – Trekken 1ST (Gold) and Women's 69 – 75 kg – Total Gold She had also participated in the 2016, 2018 and 2019 of the African Games competitions winning gold at all of them except the 2019 which she was suspended after her win as a result of a failed anti-doping test, and the gold medal was not awarded to her. In 2019 she was banned until 2027 by the International Weightlifting Federation after testing positive for metenolone and metenolone metabolites.
