CNOOC Limited (中国海洋石油有限公司) is China's largest producer of offshore crude oil and natural gas, noted as such in 2010. It is a major subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and has been listed in Hong Kong SEHK: 883 since February 2001. It was listed on the New York Stock Exchange from 2001 to 2021. It was on the Toronto Stock Exchange between 2013 and 2021. It was admitted as a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Index in July 2001.

China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC Group, is one of the largest national oil companies in China. Li has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in China. He spent 25 years in state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation, having worked in the United States, Canada, and Kazakhstan. He also at one point served as Zhou Yongkang's secretary.

Shen Dingcheng is a Chinese businessman and oil and gas executive. He served as the Vice President of China National United Oil Corporation (中国联合石油有限责任公司) and PetroChina International (中国石油国际事业有限公司) between 1997 and 2002, and later Party Secretary of PetroChina International between 2007 and 2014.

Great Eastern Energy Corporation Limited is a Coalbed methane production company, which is located in Asansol district of West Bengal. With two CBM blocks, one in Raniganj at West Bengal and the other one in Mannargudi at Tamil Nadu, it has played an important role in providing methane gas. The wells dug in the respective blocks are well connected with Gas Gathering Stations and gas is fed into its dedicated steel pipeline network to maintain the supply.

Liao Yongyuan is a former Chinese business executive. He was the president of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), which is the oil giant of China. Liao is also nicknamed "Northwest Tiger" (西北虎). On March 15, 2015, Liao Yongyuan was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency.

Taiyuan Coal Gasification (Group) Co., Ltd. is a Chinese state-owned coal mining conglomerate based in Taiyuan, Shanxi. The company was owned by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of Shanxi Provincial People's Government. However, Shanxi SASAC granted fellow state-owned enterprise Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group (JAMG) to manage their stake since 2011.

Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group Co., Ltd. (JAMG) is a Chinese state-owned coal mining conglomerate based in Jincheng, Shanxi. It was owned by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of Shanxi Provincial People's Government. JAMG was ranked 386th in 2016 Fortune Global 500. The company also known as Jin Coal Group in China, which "Jin" was the short name of both Jincheng and Shanxi Province, as both named after the ancient Jin. Jincheng was located in one of the 13 important coal mining sites of China, namely "Jin East", which fellow state-owned enterprise Yangquan Coal Industry Group and Lu'an Mining Industry Group were also located in "Jin East".

China National Aviation Fuel Group Corporation (CNAF) is a Chinese state-owned enterprise. The company owns a 51% stake in China National Aviation Fuel Supply Co., Ltd., one of the largest jet fuel suppliers in China. China National Aviation Fuel Group was ranked 484th in 2016 Fortune Global 500 list.
