Chinese Physics B is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal published in English by IOP Publishing. It is sponsored by the Chinese Physical Society and the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Chinese Physics B is devoted to rapid publication of original research papers, rapid communications, and reviews on the latest developments and achievements in all branches of physics worldwide except nuclear physics, as well as the physics of elementary particles and fields. Specific areas of interest include condensed matter physics, quantum information, atomic and molecular physics, optical physics, and plasma physics.
The journal was established in 1992 as Acta Physica Sinica (Overseas Edition), publishing papers different from those of "Acta Physica Sinica" (in Chinese) in both language and content. The journal title was changed to Chinese Physics in 2000, and changed to Chinese Physics B in 2008.
This journal is abstracted and indexed in Science Citation Index, Materials Science Citation Index, Scopus, Inspec, Compendex, NASA Astrophysics Data System Stanford Physics Information Retrieval System, and VINITI Database RAS/Referativny Zhurnal. According to the Journal Citation Reports , the journal has a 2023 impact factor of 1.5.
The European Physical Journal is a joint publication of EDP Sciences, Springer Science+Business Media, and the Società Italiana di Fisica. It arose in 1998 as a merger and continuation of Acta Physica Hungarica, Anales de Física, Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, Il Nuovo Cimento, Journal de Physique, Portugaliae Physica and Zeitschrift für Physik. The journal is published in various sections, covering all areas of physics.
The Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics is a biweekly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by IOP Publishing. It was established in 1968 from the division of the earlier title, Proceedings of the Physical Society. In 2006, the Journal of Optics B: Quantum and Semiclassical Optics was merged with the Journal of Physics B. The editor-in-chief is Marc Vrakking.
The Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by IOP Publishing, the publishing branch of the Institute of Physics. It is part of the Journal of Physics series and covers theoretical physics focusing on sophisticated mathematical and computational techniques.
Applied Physics A: Materials Science and Processing is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that is published monthly by Springer Science+Business Media. The editor-in-chief is Thomas Lippert. This publication is complemented by Applied Physics B .
Acta Crystallographica is a series of peer-reviewed scientific journals, with articles centred on crystallography, published by the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr). Originally established in 1948 as a single journal called Acta Crystallographica, there are now six independent Acta Crystallographica titles:
Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica (ABBS) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal which publishes original research articles, short communications, and reviews in the fields of biochemistry and biophysics. Established in 1958, the journal is sponsored by the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, an institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is published monthly by Oxford Journals and was published by Blackwell Publishing prior to January 2009.
Today in China, there are more than 8,000 academic journals, of which more than 4,600 can be considered scientific. About 1,400 cover health science. In 2022, it was reported that China has become one of the top countries in the world in both scientific research output, and also for highly cited academic papers.
Physica Status Solidi, often stylized physica status solidi or pss, is a family of international peer-reviewed, scientific journals, publishing research on all aspects of solid state physics, and materials science. It is owned and published by Wiley–VCH. These journals publish over 2000 articles per year, making it one of the largest international publications in condensed matter physics. The current editor in chief is Stefan Hildebrandt at the Editorial Office based in Berlin. This office also manages the peer-review process.
Acta Physica Polonica is an open access peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research in physics. It was established by the Polish Physical Society in 1920 as Comptes Rendus des Séances de la Société Polonaise de Physique. In 1970 is split into two journals Acta Physica Polonica A and Acta Physica Polonica B. The two journals became independent in 1995, with series A published by the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and series B published by the Jagiellonian University in cooperation with the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Physica is a Dutch series of peer-reviewed, scientific journals of physics by Elsevier. It started out in 1921 as a journal of the Nederlandse Natuurkundige Vereniging that published mostly in Dutch. In 1934 it was taken over by the North-Holland Publishing Company, keeping the same name but with a new volume numbering. The single journal Physica was split in a three-part series in 1975. Physica D was created in 1980, and Physica E in 1998. It was published in Utrecht until 2007, and is now published in Amsterdam by Elsevier.
IOP Publishing is the publishing company of the Institute of Physics. It provides publications through which scientific research is distributed worldwide, including journals, community websites, magazines, conference proceedings and books. The Institute of Physics is a scientific charity devoted to increasing the practice, understanding and application of physics. Any financial surplus earned by IOP Publishing goes to support physics through the activities of the Institute.
Geophysical Journal International (GJI) is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal in the field of geophysics. It is published by Oxford University Press on behalf of two learned societies: the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) and the Deutsche Geophysikalische Gesellschaft, who select and peer-review the contents.
Physical Review A is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the American Physical Society covering atomic, molecular, and optical physics and quantum information. As of 2021 the editor was Jan M. Rost.
Acta Mathematica Sinica is a peer-reviewed mathematics journal published quarterly by Springer. Chinese Physics may refer to:
The Chinese Physical Society (CPS) a professional society of physicists established in 1932. It is part of the China Association for Science and Technology. Current membership is at around 40,000. CPS has been a member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) since 1984 and of the Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS) since 1990.
The Institute of Physicsof the Chinese Academy of Sciences was the result of a merger, after the communist took control of the mainland China in 1949, between the Institute of Physics of Academia Sinica (IOPAS) founded in Shanghai in 1928 and the Institute of Physics of National Academy of Peiping (IOPNAP) founded in Beiping in 1929. The director of the IOPNAP, physicist Yan Jici, was appointed director of the new institution after the merger was completed in 1950. The new entity was named the Institute of Applied Physics before being renamed to Institute of Physics in 1958. In Taiwan, the IOPAS was re-established in Taipei in 1962 by another "founding father" of modern Chinese physics - Wu Ta-You.
