Chocñacota (possibly from Aymara ch'uxña green, quta lake [2] "green lake") is a mountain in the Apolobamba mountain range in Peru and the name of a lake near the mountain. The mountain and the lake are situated in the Puno Region, Putina Province, Ananea District, near the Bolivian border. [1] They lie southwest and northwest of the mountains Ichocollo and Palomani.

Aymara language native language in South America

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Spanish, is one of the official languages of Bolivia and parts of Peru. It is also spoken, to a much lesser extent, by some communities in northern Chile, where it is a recognized minority language.

Chocñacota is also the name of an intermittent stream which originates near the lake. It flows to the west. [1]

Ch'uxñaquta is a lake in the Andes of Peru. It is situated in the Puno Region, Carabaya Province, Usicayos District.

Yawa Yawa is situated south of the mountain Ch'amakani and northeast of Punta Yawri. Yawa Yawa is also the name of a little lake near the mountain.

Ch'amakani is situated south of the mountain Yanaqucha, west of Chawpi Wayq'u and north of Yawa Yawa.

Palomani is a mountain in the Apolobamba mountain range on the border of Bolivia and Peru. It reaches a height of about 5,723 metres (18,776 ft). On the Bolivian side it is located in the La Paz Department, Franz Tamayo Province, Pelechuco Municipality, and on the Peruvian side it lies in the Puno Region, Putina Province, Ananea District. It is situated north of Suches Lake. Palomani is south of Chaupi Orco, Salluyu and Jichu Qullu, near Chocñacota in the west.

Cunuyo is a mountain in the north of the Apolobamba mountain range on the border of Bolivia and Peru. It is about 5,100 metres (16,732 ft) high. On the Bolivian side it is located in the La Paz Department, Franz Tamayo Province, Pelechuco Municipality, and on the Peruvian side it lies in the Puno Region, Putina Province, Sina District. Cunuyo is situated southwest of the mountain Locopauchenta and east of Losojocha.

Sorapata is a mountain in the north of the Apolobamba mountain range on the border of Bolivia and Peru. It is about 6,000 metres (19,685 ft) high. On the Bolivian side it is located in the La Paz Department, Franz Tamayo Province, Pelechuco Municipality, and on the Peruvian side it lies in the Puno Region, Putina Province, Sina District. Sorapata is situated between Locopauchenta and Cunuyo in the north and Chaupi Orco in the south. The lake Japucocha lies southwest of it.

Ichocollo (Bolivia-Peru)

Ichocollo or Ichucollo is a mountain in the Apolobamba mountain range at the border of Bolivia and Peru, about 5,423 metres (17,792 ft) high. According to the Bolivian IGM (Instituto Geográfico Militar) map and a map edited by the Peruvian Ministry of Education it is located in the La Paz Department, Franz Tamayo Province, Pelechuco Municipality, near 14°41′57″S69°14′55″W. According to reports of mountaineers, however, its position is more to the west on the Peruvian border of the Puno Region, Putina Province, Ananea District, near 14°41′30″S69°15′30″W. This information is based on a DAV (Deutscher Alpenverein) map of 1957.

Jajahuaycho mountain in Peru

The mountain and the lake are located in the Puno Region, Putina Province, Ananea District. The peak reaches about 5,200 metres (17,060 ft) above sea level. It lies northwest of the mountains Palomani and Chocñacota and west of the lake Chocñacota. Parihuani and Huanacuni are the names of the northwestern and northeastern peaks of Jajahuaycho.

It is situated in the Puno Region, Putina Province, on the border of the Ananea District and the Sina District. Choquechambi lies northwest of Riti Urmasca and southeast of Ritipata, Chapi and Yanauma.

Saytajota is a lake in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Puno Region, Carabaya Province, Macusani District, at a place named Saytoccota. Saytajota is situated northwest of the lake Tocsajota and the mountain Vilajota and east of the lake Parinajota and another lake named Saytajota which lies next to Parinajota, north of it.

Wirta Pata mountain in Peru

Wirta Pata is a mountain in the Andes of Peru and the name of a lake near the mountain. The mountain and the lake are located in the Puno Region, Sandia Province, Limbani District. The mountain is about 5,200 metres (17,060 ft) high. It lies north of the peaks of Ariquma and Ankayuq K'uchu, and southwest of the lakes Ch'uxñaquta and Tinkiqucha (Tinquicocha).

Yanauma mountain in Peru

Yanauma is a 5,009-metre-high (16,434 ft) mountain in the Apolobamba mountain range in the Andes of Peru. It is situated in the Puno Region, Putina Province, on the border of the districts of Ananea and Sina. Yanauma lies northwest of the Riti Urmasca, north of Choquechambi, east of Chapi and southeast of Ritipata.
