Choose The Hits was an all request Australian national Digital Radio station. It was run by Austereo and was renamed on 1 February 2010. Previously the station was trialled with the name Hot30 Jelli, launching on 27 November 2009. [1] [2] The radio station ceased broadcast on 21 May 2010.

The station was powered by the Jelli platform.

Online

The service had a national interactive version. Listeners could choose what song to air next via finding a song in the music catalogue. The one with the most "Rocks" by users would become the next song played. The song with the most "Sucks" by users would be taken off air and not played. [3]

Programming

The playlist was fairly broad, including the most popular Contemporary Hit Radio songs from the past decade. It was on live on stations of the Today Network from 10pm-1am from Monday-Thursday. The radio broadcast was hosted by Sarah Maree Cameron.

Availability

The station was heard on DAB+ radios in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. [4]

A simulcast of the station was also broadcast on 2Day FM in Sydney, Fox FM in Melbourne, B105 in Brisbane, SAFM in Adelaide and 92.9 in Perth between 10:15pm and 1am on Monday to Thursday nights. The last simulcast went to air on 20 May 2010.

The station also streamed online at the Choose The Hits website.

Since the service's closure, website users are being forwarded to the main Jelli page if they attempt to reach the Choose The Hits section of the website. [5]

hit92.9 is a commercial FM radio station broadcasting in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, on a frequency of 92.9 MHz, and is part of Southern Cross Austereo's Hit Network. 92.9's studios used to be located at 283 Rokeby Road, Subiaco. In March 2007, they moved to a purpose-built broadcast centre with sister station Mix 94.5, at 450 Roberts Road, Subiaco.

Radar Radio was an Australian Digital Radio station. It was run by Southern Cross Austereo from its launch date on 11 December 2008 to the closure of the station Monday 25 November 2013. The Radar Radio website was also taken down on the same day as the station closure.

Digital broadcast radio in Australia uses the DAB+ standard and is available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin and Hobart. However, after nine years regional large cities like Townsville still do not have DAB. The national government owned television/radio networks, the ABC and SBS, and the commercial radio stations in each market provide many of their services and a few digital-only services on the digital platform. Jelli is a San Mateo, California-based advertising technology firm, which develops solutions for the programmatic sale and airplay of radio advertising.

High Voltage Radio was a pop up Digital Radio station broadcasting nationally in Australia while AC/DC were touring the country in 2010. The station was part of Austereo's Triple M Network and only played AC/DC music.

The KIIS Network is a network of radio stations owned and operated by the Australian Radio Network. Formerly branded as the Mix Network, the network was rebranded as the KIIS Network in 2015 following the relaunch of KIIS 101.1 Melbourne. The KIIS Network is named after KIIS-FM, a Los Angeles-based radio station broadcast on the 102.7 MHz FM band.

Barry was a comedy digital radio station broadcasting to the five mainland state capital cities in Australia. The station is owned by Austereo and was the second permanent digital-only station the company has launched, alongside Radar Radio. The station was launched on 16 July 2010. It ceased operation in June 2012.

Caravan Radio was a pop up Digital Radio station that broadcast nationally in Australia while Hamish & Andy tour the United Kingdom in 2010 on their fourth Caravan of Courage journey. The station is part of the Austereo Today Network.
