Christie Grobbelaar (born 15 June 2000) is a South African rugby union player. [1]
He competed for the South Africa national rugby sevens team at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where South Africa won gold, [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] and at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, [8] [9] where they defeated Australia to win the bronze medal final. [10] [11]
Grobbelaar was named on the bench for the Sharks during the 2024 Currie Cup Premier Division, but did not ultimately make an appearance. [12]
He was named in the Sharks squad for the 2025 Currie Cup Premier Division. [13] Grobbelaar remained with the Sharks for the start of the 2025–26 United Rugby Championship, before being loaned back to the South African sevens team. [14] [15]
