Claire Elizabeth Pearl Parker (born 30 June 1991) is an Australian model, actress, and beauty pageant titleholder who was designated as Miss Grand International 2015. She originally placed as the first runner-up but assumed the title after the original winner was dethroned. Parker herself was later stripped of the title in 2019. [1]
Parker was born in Sydney, Australia. She graduated with a degree in acting and has worked as a model and stage actress in Australia.
Parker represented Australia at the Miss Grand International 2015 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 25 October 2015. She initially finished as the first runner-up to Anea Garcia of the Dominican Republic.
On 24 March 2016, the Miss Grand International organization announced that Anea Garcia had stepped down from her title due to an inability to fulfill her obligations. As the first runner-up, Parker assumed the title of Miss Grand International 2015. [2] She was officially crowned on 1 April 2016 in Bangkok. During her reign, she traveled to Vietnam, China, Cambodia, the United Kingdom, and Nepal to promote the pageant's "Stop the War and Violence" campaign.
In February 2019, Parker announced her intention to compete in Miss Universe Australia 2019. Following this announcement, the Miss Grand International organization released a statement stripping her of the Miss Grand International 2015 title, citing that competing in another pageant while holding the MGI title (even as a past queen) violated the organization's policies. [3]
After being dethroned, Parker competed in Miss Universe Australia 2019 representing New South Wales. She did not advance to the top 15 finalists.
