Clinidium simplex is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. [1] It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. [1] [2]
The San Juan Islands is an archipelago in the Pacific Northwest of the United States between the U.S. state of Washington and Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The San Juan Islands are part of Washington state, and form the core of San Juan County.
San Juan County is a county in the Salish Sea in the far northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 census, its population was 17,788. The county seat and only incorporated town is Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island. The county was formed on October 31, 1873, from Whatcom County and is named for the San Juan Islands, which are in turn named for Juan Vicente de Güemes, 2nd Count of Revillagigedo, the Viceroy of New Spain.
Erotylidae, or the pleasing fungus beetles, is a family of beetles belonging to Cucujoidea containing over 100 genera. In the present circumscription, it contains 6 tribes and 10 subfamilies. In other words, the narrowly circumscribed Erotylidae correspond to the subfamily Erotylinae in the definition sensu lato. There are doubts on the monophyly of lower ranked taxa within Erotylidae, with further phylogenetic studies requiring better sampling and studies of unexplored character sets, for example the metendosternite and penile flagellum, which are generally lacking detailed morphological studies within the Coleoptera literature. The Eroytlina taxonomy is based on traits such as their different colors and not off morphological differences like mouthparts, thorax, and abdominal terminalia (Pecci-Maddalena).
Clinidium is a genus of wrinkled bark beetles in the subfamily Rhysodinae. Most species are Neotropical, but some occur further north in North America and there is also one species in Europe and one in Japan. Two species are known from Miocene amber.
Rhyzodiastes is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Kaveinga is a genus of wrinkled bark beetles in the family Carabidae.
Neoclytus is a genus of beetles in the family Cerambycidae. They measure 4-20 mm. There are 93 species in the New World.
Clinidium humile is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by R.T. Bell & J.R. Bell in 1985. It is known from "New Granada", which could be in either present-day Colombia or Panama. What now is the holotype of Clinidium humile was originally identified by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat as Clinidium cavicolle of "the other sex". The holotype is a male measuring 6.8 mm (0.27 in) in length.
Clinidium cavicolle is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is known from Colombia; there is an uncertain record from Brazil too. There is uncertainty as regards to the origin of the type specimen(s) as the original label refers to "Nova-Grenata, Bogoto", probably referring to Bogota. What is now designated as the lectotype is from Ocaña, Norte de Santander. The other syntype, probably of "the other sex", matches Chevrolat's description less well and was described in 1985 as Clinidium humile.
Clinidium curvicosta is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is endemic to the Sierra Maestra in Cuba.
Clinidium granatense is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is known from Colombia.
Clinidium humeridens is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873.
Clinidium mexicanum is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is endemic to the southern part of the Mexican Plateau. Clinidium mexicanum measure 6–8.5 mm (0.24–0.33 in) in length.
Clinidium rojasi is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is known from the mountains of northern Venezuela between Falcón and Aragua states and from Guyana.
Clinidium planum is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1844. It is probably endemic to Guadeloupe ; a female supposedly from "Mexico" probably represents another species and may have been mislabeled. Clinidium planum measure 5.3–6.3 mm (0.21–0.25 in) in length.
Rhyzodiastes maderiensis is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is found in Brazil; the specific name refers to Madeira River.
Rhyzodiastes quadristriatus is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is known from French Guiana.
Coccinellinae is a subfamily of lady beetles in the family Coccinellidae. There are at least 20 genera and 90 described species in Coccinellinae.
Sphenophorus is a genus of weevils, often known as billbugs, in the family Curculionidae, and tribe Sphenophorini. Eleven species of billbugs infest managed turfgrass in North America.
Oncochila is a genus of lace bugs in the tribe Tingini. Species are recorded from temperate Asia and Europe and includes O. simplex found in the British Isles.
