James Redfern Hopes is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer. Hopes played domestic cricket for Queensland,and had represented Australia in One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket from 2005 to 2010. Hopes was consistently one of the best bowlers in Australian domestic cricket through his career,and when he retired in 2016 he was the top wicket-taker of the last decade despite never being selected to play in a Test match for Australia.
Damien Geoffrey Wright is an Australian cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who coached Hobart Hurricanes cricket team. Wright made his debut for Tasmania in 1997,playing with the team until switching to Victoria for the 2008–09 season. In 2002 he played in the Scottish cricket team as their one permitted overseas player—he also had previous spells in county cricket with Northamptonshire,Glamorgan and Somerset. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. He has a side-on bowling action and an ability to bounce the ball sharply. Wright started Coaching the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League 03 in 2013–14,he coached the team to defeat the Melbourne Stars,who were undefeated in the tournament until then. The Hurricanes then lost the final to the Perth Scorchers. Wright then coached the Hurricanes to the semi-finals in the Champions League T20 2014 in India.

Philip James Adams is an Australian former cricketer who played at List A level for Western Australia. Adams was born in Midland,Western Australia,and attended John Forrest Senior High School's cricket academy. He played cricket for Western Australia at both under-17s and under-19s level,scoring 228 runs from seven matches at an average of 32.57 in the 2007–08 Under-17 Championship Series,and 343 runs from seven matches at an average of 85.75,with a highest score of 171,at the 2009–10 Australian Under-19 Championships. He was selected in the Team of the Championships for the under-19 championships,and nominated in the provisional 30-man squad for the 2010 Under-19 World Cup. Adams made his Futures League debut for the Western Australia Under-23s team against Queensland Under-23s during the 2009–10 season,scoring 117* on debut. He went on to make his limited-overs debut for Western Australia against South Australia in the 2010–11 Ryobi One-Day Cup,scoring five runs batting seventh. Adams played one further match at state level,against Tasmania,and was again dismissed for five runs,having opened the innings with Marcus Harris. At grade cricket leve,he plays for Bayswater–Morley.

Ashton James Turner is an Australian cricketer who debuted for Western Australia during the 2012–13 season,and is also contracted to the Perth Scorchers. From Perth,Turner represented Western Australia at under-15 (schoolboys),under-17 and under-19 level. and captained the under-17 team to their National Championships win. A right-arm off spinner,he toured India with the Australian under-19 team in September and October 2011,taking eight wickets from six matches in a quadrangular tournament involving the Australian,Indian,Sri Lankan,and West Indian under-19 teams. At the 2012 Under-19 World Cup,he was Australia's first-choice spinner,ahead of Victoria's Ashton Agar,and took eleven wickets from six matches,with his best figures 4/28 against Nepal.
The 2013–14 Sheffield Shield season was the 112th season of the Sheffield Shield,the Australian domestic first-class cricket competition. It was held after the conclusion of the Ryobi One-Day Cup and included a break halfway through for the entirety of the Big Bash League. As a part of Cricket Australia's campaign for day/night Tests,it included three day/night matches,played with the pink ball. The separation of the tournaments meant that players in the national Test squad only played two or three Shield matches before the first Test of the 2013–14 Ashes series.

Alexander Ian Ross is an Australian cricketer. The son of a cricket coach,Ross started playing domestic cricket for South Australia in 2012,having moved to the state in 2009 with his father. He began to rise to prominence in the 2014–15 season when,after improved form in both first-class and List A cricket,he began playing for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. In his first match of BBL|05 he scored 65 runs off 31 balls,making excellent use of the sweep shot and earning the moniker "sweepologist". He currently represents South Australia in first-class and one-day cricket and plays for the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.

Boland is one of a handful of indigenous Australians to be selected to play for Australia at international level and,as of December 2021,is only the second male Aboriginal player to have played Test cricket for Australia,after Jason Gillespie. He was a member of the Australian team that won the 2023 ICC World Test Championship final.

It was played over a four-week period at the start of the domestic season to separate its schedule from the Sheffield Shield season. The tournament was held in Townsville,Sydney,Perth and Melbourne. Fox Cricket broadcast 13 matches from the tournament. The tournament was sponsored by Jardine Lloyd Thompson.
