Clonguish GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club in Newtownforbes, County Longford, Ireland. The club was formed on 20 October 1889 and was originally called Clonguish Gallowglasses. [1] Situated in the west of County Longford, it is bordered by four parishes in County Longford, Drumlish, Killoe, Killashee and Templemichael (Longford) – the parish also shares a common boundary with the Province of Connacht in that it adjoins the parishes of Bornacoola and Gortletteragh in County Leitrim and Tarmonbarry in County Roscommon. The Irish for Clonguish is Cluain Geis which means 'The Meadow of the Swans'.

Clonguish played their games at Curry Field in the Castleforbes Estate before moving to their new ground Centenary Park in 1984. Centenary Park is now called Bertie Allen Park after one of Clonguish's and Longford's most famous GAA men. Bertie Allen Park has two full-size pitches with state of the art floodlights on the main pitch and training lights on the bottom pitch. Work has been carried out on a third pitch beside the training pitch. The facilities include dressing rooms with showers, weights room, two meeting rooms, an indoor soccer, basketball court and handball area.

Minor Championship of 1951 was not finished and it was decided at a County Board meeting in Feb 1952 to drop the incomplete 1951 Minor Championship as reported in the Longford Leader on 8 March 1952 in an article titled 'With the Minors'). St Vincent's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Blarney Street and Sundays Well parts of Cork city, Ireland. It also includes in its catchment area Gurranabraher, Churchfield and Knocknaheeny. Teams are fielded in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún board competitions. Paul Barden is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Longford county team from October 1998 until February 2015 when he announced his retirement. He was the longest serving inter-county player in the country until his retirement. He won an O'Byrne Cup medal with them in 2000, he also won 2 O'Byrne Shield medals in 2006 and 2007. He was also a member of the Ireland international rules football team in 2002 and 2006. He also won a Railway Cup with Leinster in 2001 and 2002. In 2011, he captained Longford to victory over Roscommon in the National Football League Div 4 final at Croke Park and in 2012, Longford were back at Croke Park, this time for the Division 3 final and again won beating Wexford with Barden once again captain.

Brendan Barden was a Gaelic footballer from County Longford, Ireland. He was part of the Longford team that won a National Football League title in 1966 as captain, an O'Byrne Cup in 1965 and a Leinster Senior Football title in 1968. In 1962 he played on the winning Leinster Railway Cup team. In 1966 he was a Leinster All-Star footballer and won a Cú Chulainn Award.
