Closet Monster was a Canadian punk rock band from Ajax, Ontario.
Closet Monster was formed at Pickering High School in 1997 primarily by Mark Spicoluk, the sole founder of Underground Operations record label along with Jesse Colburn, noted for having performed in Avril Lavigne's band from 2002-2004 with Spicoluk first performing in Public Display, from 1995-1997 (originally; Special Ed) then with Sum 41 briefly in 1997. [1] The most recent lineup played their final show on December 8, 2005 at the Phoenix in Toronto with Underground Operations label mates Dead Letter Dept, Bombs Over Providence, Hostage Life and Protest The Hero. The band has achieved much publicity from touring Canada, the United States and Europe, playing dates on the Warped Tour, and starting a very successful Canadian record label, Underground Operations. [2] Closet Monster have shared the stage with the likes of Billy Talent, Rise Against, Alexisonfire, Propagandhi, Hot Water Music, SNFU, Madball, Atom And His Package, Suicidal Tendencies, KNUT, Dead Kennedys, Silverstein, 25tolife, The Suicide Machines, Buck-O-Nine, The Casualties, Choke, Mad Caddies, D.b.s., Mastodon, Atreyu, Ten Foot Pole, Moneen, Protest the Hero, The Movielife, Social Distortion, Bad Religion Warped Tour 2004 & 2005 and many other bands.
The band's lyrics is noted for having an anarchist theme, primarily meant to be tongue in cheek, albeit it can be perceived to be glamorizing and promoting it.
The band reunited in 2009 for one show at Wakestock Festival.
Before shutting down, Underground Operations released Suicide Note, an anthological compilation album of Closet Monster's work, as their last release. [3]

Guttermouth is an American punk rock band formed in 1989 in Huntington Beach, California. They have released nine full-length studio albums and two live albums and have toured extensively, including performances on the Vans Warped Tour. They are infamous for their outrageous lyrics and behavior which are deliberately explicit, offensive and intended to shock, though usually in a humorous and sarcastic manner. This behavior has sometimes resulted in high-profile problems for the band, such as being banned from performing in Canada for eighteen months and leaving the 2004 Warped Tour amidst controversy over their political views and attitudes towards other performers.
The Suicide Machines are an American punk rock band formed in March 1991 in Detroit, Michigan. During the course of their career, the band has released seven full-length albums on the labels Hollywood Records, Side One Dummy Records and Fat Wreck Chords, as well as several EPs and singles. They have experienced lineup changes over the years, all with founding member Jason Navarro as lead singer and front man. The contemporary lineup includes Ryan Vandeberghe on drums, Rich Tschirhart on bass and Justin Malek on guitar.

Save Ferris is an American ska punk band formed circa 1995 in Orange County, California, United States. Their name is a reference to the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. In 1995, the band began to perform underground venues in Southern California. In 1996, the band won a Grammy showcase award for best unsigned band and a contract with Epic Records. Their album It Means Everything from 1997 was their first full-length album. By 1999, the band moved from ska-pop into pop-punk. After a hiatus, in 2017, Save Ferris released the Checkered Past EP.

Mark Spicoluk is a Canadian content creator, yoga instructor, musician, podcaster, and entrepreneur. He is best known as co-creator and yoga teacher for the lifestyle brand Boho Beautiful, his time as bass player with Avril Lavigne, and as the vocalist and bassist for the punk rock band Closet Monster. From 2012 to 2015 he appeared as a judge on YTV's The Next Star. He is also known as the founder of the indie record label Underground Operations, and his production credits on albums by artists such as Protest the Hero, Abandon All Ships, Stereos and DVBBS. Along with his musical and business accomplishments, he is also a strong animal rights and social justice advocate.
Jesse Colburn is a Canadian guitarist. He played guitar for Closet Monster, until their final show on December 8, 2005, and previously played in Avril Lavigne's band from 2002 to 2004.
Big D and the Kids Table is a ska punk band formed in October 1995 in Boston, Massachusetts, when its members converged in college. Their first release was on their own Fork in Hand Records label, but have since teamed with Springman Records and SideOneDummy. The band has been noted for its strict DIY work ethic, such as engineering, producing, and releasing their own albums and videos and self-promotion of their own shows.
Underground Operations was an independent punk rock record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1995, the label was originally based in Ajax, Ontario. Operated by Mark Spicoluk, former Closet Monster member and former bass player for Avril Lavigne, this label was one of the most successful independent labels in Canada. Spicoluk started the label when he was 16 years of age. Underground Operations shut down on December 2, 2016.
Matchbook Romance was an American pop-punk and emo band from Poughkeepsie, New York, initially formed in 1997 under the name Fizzlewink (1997–2001) and then The Getaway (2001–2002). They were signed to Epitaph Records and released two full-length albums, one EP and one split EP with Motion City Soundtrack with them. Their EP West for Wishing, released on April 8th 2003, was their first professional record and was produced by Brett Gurewitz from Epitaph Records; and then on September 23rd 2003 they debuted their first full-length album, Stories and Alibis.
Protest the Hero is a Canadian progressive metal band from Whitby, Ontario. Originally named Happy Go Lucky, the band changed their name to Protest the Hero, then released their debut EP, Search for the Truth, in 2002. In 2005, the band released their first album Kezia on Canadian indie label Underground Operations.

"Hundred Million" is a song by Canadian rock band Treble Charger. It was released as the lead single from the band's fourth album, Detox. The song features backing vocals by Deryck Whibley and percussion by Steve Jocz, both from Sum 41. The song received a CASBY Award for "Favourite New Single" in 2002. The song peaked at No. 49 on the Radio & Records Alternative chart in 2003.

Bombs Over Providence were a Canadian pop-punk/punk rock band from Brampton, Ontario, whose songs were mainly about politics. They were one of the first bands signed to the independent punk label Underground Operations.
The Brat Attack was a Canadian political punk rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2007, their biography (edited) was: "We are a political punk band that believes that we can contribute to creating social change and fighting injustice in singing about various issues that concern us, making the message the focal point, and expose people to our concerns and shit that makes us pissed off and frustrated...We are young and stupid, but believe that we should take this opportunity of singing in front of people to focus on important shit rather than the ho-hum drivel about relationships." The band has fallen into controversies in recent years due to charges on front man, Davey Brat, for distribution of child pornography, as well as a hit and run of protestors
Marilyn's Vitamins were a Canadian punk rock band formed in 1995 from Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, playing their last show December 28, 1999 in Toronto, Ontario. In those near-five years they released two albums on Raw Energy and 7"s on Ductape, and Ugly Pop Vinyl. A posthumous collection was released on Underground Operations in 2003. The band consisted of Rob Moir (guitar), Danny Complex (guitar/vocals), Colin Lichti (vocals), Adam Cook (bass/vocals), Jeff Breen (guitar), Kristoffer Wood (bass) and Shawn Dickey (drums). Members of the band went on to form Bombs Over Providence, Hostage Life and Dead Letter Dept. Their lyrics mainly dealt with various political issues of the time.
The Prozacs are an American punk rock / pop punk band formed in 2001 by Jay Gauvin in Westfield, Massachusetts, and has toured nationally and internationally and has appeared at events such as Insubordination Fest and Vans Warped Tour, Germany's Puke Fest and has released five studio albums and several splits and EP'S on various independent labels.
