Coalpit Hill is both a village and area [1] in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, England. [2] The village forms an small urban area with the neighbouring villages of Butt Lane and Talke. As well as the Clough Hall suburb of Kidsgrove. [3]
Coalpit Hill grew around the industrial revolution [4] with the wider Potteries urban area which consists of Kidsgrove, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent. [5] This was mostly in part due to the vast amount of coal mines and collieries in the region. [6]
The village is served by regular bus services to Stoke-on-Trent, Kidsgrove and Newcastle-under-Lyme. [7]
