Codeine Velvet Club is the debut, and only, studio album by Codeine Velvet Club. It was released on 28 December 2009 by Island Records in the United Kingdom and was released on 6 April 2010 by Dangerbird Records in the United States.

The album was produced by Jon Lawler and Stuart McCredie and mixed by Tony Hoffer (who produced The Fratellis' debut album Costello Music ) and was recorded at Terminal Music in Glasgow, Playground Studios in Glasgow and Angel Recording Studios in London. [5] The album was written by Jon Lawler (with some tracks written by Lou Hickey and Will Foster). [6]
The album was originally meant to be released on 23 November, but was pushed back as the band were a little unhappy with aspects of the album and wanted to change them. [7] However, on the Vic Galloway show, Lawler stated that it was silly to release the album before the tour, meaning changes might not have been made. The album was accidentally released for Digital Download on 16 November from Amazon, HMV and Play.com, but was later removed.
In the track by track, Lawler reveals information about each tack. "I Would Send You Roses" was originally written for a collaboration between The Fratellis and Roger Daltrey, but the collaboration never went ahead and so it was used for this. "Begging Bowl Blues" features no vocals from Lou Hickey as the song didn't suit her voice. Lawler was also keen to point out the variety of instruments used and how each song has a unique sound.

The Fratellis are a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, formed in 2005. The band consists of three unrelated members, who perform under pseudonyms: lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, bassist Barry Fratelli, and drummer Mince Fratelli. Their debut album, Costello Music (2006) was a success, peaking at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and spending eighty-three weeks in the UK Top 100. In the United States, it peaked at forty-eight on the US Billboard 200.
"Sweet Jane" is a song by American rock band the Velvet Underground. Appearing on their fourth studio album Loaded (1970), the song was written by band leader and primary songwriter Lou Reed, who continued to incorporate the piece into live performances after he left the band.
"Sunday Morning" is a song by the Velvet Underground. It is the opening track on their 1967 debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico. It was first released as a single in December 1966. The song is written in the key of F major.
Costello Music is the debut album by Scottish indie rock band the Fratellis. It was released on 11 September 2006 on Fallout Records and Drop the Gun Recordings and on 13 March 2007 on Cherrytree Records in the US and was a success, peaking at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and spent 83 weeks in the Top 100. It debuted behind FutureSex/LoveSounds by Justin Timberlake and stayed in the No. 2 position for two more weeks, this time behind Ta-Dah by Scissor Sisters. The album had five single releases, as well as the download-only EP Flathead. "Chelsea Dagger" was the most successful single, peaking at No. 5 in the UK and No. 4 in the Netherlands, but the other singles failed to chart in most countries.
"After Hours" is a 1969 song written by Lou Reed and originally performed by the Velvet Underground, "about a timid person watching others having fun and wishing they could join in". It is the tenth and final track on their self-titled third album. It is one of few songs with lead vocals by drummer Maureen Tucker, as Lou Reed stated the song was "so innocent and pure" that he could not possibly sing it himself. Tucker's vocals are accompanied by acoustic and bass guitar. The style of the lyrics and the music is somewhat reminiscent of Tin Pan Alley songs of the 1930s.
The Dykeenies are a Scottish indie rock band from Cumbernauld, formed in 2005. The group consists of brothers Brian Henderson and Andrew Henderson, along with Steven Ramsay and John Kerr. Since their formation, they have released one studio album, Nothing Means Everything, accompanied by three singles. After a worldwide tour, the band began work on their second album, which was released in October 2011. They broke up in January 2012, before re-forming for two performances in 2017. The Dykeenies released their EP 'I Wanted To Show Her All The Beautiful Things in the World' on 11 May 2018. The title of the 2018 EP was taken from Bret Ellis-Easton's 'American Psycho'.
John Paul Lawler, known professionally as Jon Fratelli, is a Scottish musician and singer-songwriter, who is the lead singer of the band The Fratellis. Their debut album, Costello Music (2006) was a success, peaking at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and spending eighty-three weeks in the UK Top 100. In the United States, it peaked at forty-eight on the US Billboard 200. The Fratellis won the 2007 BRIT Award for Best British Breakthrough Act, and as of March 2018, Costello Music had sold 1,145,000 copies in the UK. Costello Music spawned five successful singles – "Henrietta", "Chelsea Dagger", "Whistle for the Choir", "Baby Fratelli" and "Ole Black 'n' Blue Eyes".
The Budhill Singles Club is a collection of songs released by The Fratellis from 2006 to 2008. The name "Budhill" refers to the area of Springboig, Glasgow where Barry was born. They also visit Budhill Square during the video for Creepin' Up the Backstairs. Songs released to the Budhill Singles Club are generally acoustic or alternate versions of album tracks, although in some cases demos, live versions and unreleased songs have been included.
Codeine Velvet Club was a Scottish alternative rock band formed in 2009 by Lou Hickey and Jon Lawler, while Lawler's band The Fratellis were taking a hiatus after their second album Here We Stand. Codeine Velvet Club's sole album, their self titled debut album was released on 28 December 2009 in the UK and on 6 April 2010 in the US.
Zounds is the third album by Australian rock band Dappled Cities, released in Australia on 15 August 2009 and worldwide on 15 September through Dangerbird Records. The album comes two years after their previous release, Granddance, during which time the band was touring the US with the likes of The Fratellis and Tokyo Police Club, with a few forays home riding shotgun to Silverchair, Modest Mouse and LCD Soundsystem. At this point, the band had uprooted from their home of Sydney and settled Stateside. They shot videos in Wyoming gas stations, played impromptu gigs in South Dakota sound factories, partied with Hugh Jackman and Steve Malkmus and even managed to film a 26-episode children's odyssey for Disney called ‘Alphabreaks’.
Vanity Kills is the debut single by Scottish rock band Codeine Velvet Club taken from their debut album Codeine Velvet Club. The song was released digitally on 2 November 2009 and on 7" Vinyl on 23 November 2009. It was re-released on 5 April 2010 with a brand new track "Midnight Love Song".
Lou Hickey is a singer-songwriter from Neilston, Scotland. She has been working as a solo artist since 2006 and in 2008, joined Jon Lawler from the Fratellis in a band called Codeine Velvet Club which disbanded in 2010. Since then, Lou has recorded her debut album.
Hollywood / I Am the Resurrection is the second single release by Scottish alternative rock band Codeine Velvet Club from their 2009 debut album Codeine Velvet Club. It is a double A-Side with their cover of The Stone Roses' "I Am the Resurrection". The song was released on 28 December 2009, the same day as their debut album. "I Am the Resurrection" went on to be added as a bonus track on the band's debut album.

The Gospel Truth Choir is a Scottish choir which performs a wide variety of music in a gospel style. Originally formed by Tracey Braithwaite and a group of friends in 2007 for the wedding of BAFTA-winning composer Paul Leonard-Morgan, they were soon regularly performing in recording studios and on stage, as well as being a feature of many wedding ceremonies.

Written solely by May, the song was released as her fifth single on 15 November 2010 and the third single from her third studio album, Mayhem. The song, which has been described as "the standout song" of the album, is one of May's autobiographical songs and was also rerecorded in New York City with iconic musician Lou Reed.
Psycho Jukebox is the debut solo album by Jon Fratelli, frontman of The Fratellis and formerly of Codeine Velvet Club. Released on 25 July 2011. It was recorded with Tony Hoffer in the Sound Factory studios in Los Angeles.
Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied is the fourth album by the Scottish rock band The Fratellis. The album was announced on 1 June 2015 with the first track, "Me and the Devil", and released on 21 August 2015. The album was written and recorded in Los Angeles during November 2014 with Tony Hoffer, who also produced the band's first album Costello Music and Jon Fratelli's solo album Psycho Jukebox.
Bright Night Flowers is the second solo album by Jon Fratelli, frontman of The Fratellis. It was released on February 15, 2019, by Cooking Vinyl. As well as being released on the standard formats of digital download, CD and standard black vinyl, the album also released a limited edition purple vinyl available from their official online store. It was co-produced by Stuart McCredie, who also produced Codeine Velvet Club.
