Edward Lawrence Logan was an American lawyer,judge,military officer,and politician. While still a student,Logan enlisted in the Massachusetts 9th infantry during the Spanish–American War. Upon returning to Boston,he ran successfully for a seat on the Boston Common Council in 1899,and subsequently won election to the Massachusetts state legislature as both a representative,and later as a state senator. Rising to the rank of major general following World War I,he was given command of the 26th Infantry Division of the United States Army. Logan was instrumental in the post–World War I reorganization of that unit,as well as the Massachusetts National Guard. He went on to serve as head of the American Legion's Department of Massachusetts.
The John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center is a convention center located in Boston,Massachusetts. It was built in 1988 from a design by architects Kallmann,McKinnell &Wood. It replaced the John B. Hynes Memorial Auditorium,also a convention center,built in 1963 during the Massachusetts Turnpike expansion from Route 128 to the Central Artery,which was regarded as "ungainly". The 1988 design "attempted to relate in scale and materials to its Back Bay setting,adopting granite and setbacks. The severe gray interior is reminiscent of an early 20th-century German railroad station". The Center is named after former Boston mayor John Hynes.

Back Bay station is an intermodal passenger station in Boston,Massachusetts. It is located just south of Copley Square in Boston's Back Bay and South End neighborhoods. It serves MBTA Commuter Rail and MBTA subway routes,and also serves as a secondary Amtrak intercity rail station for Boston. The present building,designed by Kallmann McKinnell &Wood,opened in 1987. It replaced the New Haven Railroad's older Back Bay station –which opened in 1928 as a replacement for an 1899-built station –as well as the New York Central's Huntington Avenue and Trinity Place stations which had been demolished in 1964.
