The College Clean Restoration Curling Classic is an annual bonspiel on the World Curling Tour. It is held annually in December at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Sandra Marie Schmirler, was a Canadian curler who captured three Canadian Curling Championships and three World Curling Championships. Schmirler also skipped (captained) her Canadian team to a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics, the first year women's curling was a medal sport. At tournaments where she was not competing, Schmirler sometimes worked as a commentator for CBC Sports, which popularized her nickname "Schmirler the Curler" and claimed she was the only person who had a name that rhymed with the sport she played. She died in 2000 at 36 of cancer, leaving a legacy that extended outside of curling. Schmirler was honoured posthumously with an induction into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and was awarded the World Curling Freytag Award, which later led to her induction into the World Curling Federation Hall of Fame.
The Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic is a women's World Curling Tour event held annually on the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Alberta. It was the first Grand Slam event of the season from 2006 to 2014, but is no longer considered one of the official Grand Slams.

The Vesta Energy Red Deer Curling Classic is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the Red Deer Curling Centre in Red Deer, Alberta. The tournament is held in a triple-knockout format. The men's tournament started in 1992 as a skins tournament. The women's tournament started in 1999 as a separate event held a few weeks earlier and merged with the men's event in 2007. Both are part of the World Curling Tour and have both been held nearly every year since. Curlers from Alberta have dominated the event on both sides since its inception. The event counts toward the Canadian Team Ranking System, which hands out points based on performances at CTRS events and deals with qualification to the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials.
The 2013 Point Optical Curling Classic was held from September 27 to 30 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as part of the 2013–14 World Curling Tour. The event was held in a triple knockout format, and the purse for the event was CAD$50,000, of which the winner, Jeff Stoughton, received CAD$12,000. Stoughton defeated Kevin Martin's team in the final with a score of 6–2. Martin's team was skipped by third Nedohin after Martin went out with a back injury, while Jeff Sharp subbed in as lead.
