The College of IT & Management Education, Bhubaneswar, is a public university established in August 2000. The Institution provides professional postgraduate degree education in the areas of business management and information technology as a state governmental business school in eastern Odisha.The institute is a constituent of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) under AICTE and State Government of Odisha.
The College of IT & Management Education was established as a self-sustaining institution, initially funded with capital for land and buildings with promotion of infrastructure and funds by Odisha State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. which ran under the Information Technology Department for the government of Odisha. [2] In February 2006, the institute was transferred to the Industries Department in a decision by the state cabinet of Odisha as an affiliated college under Biju Patnaik University of Technology. CIME has been running on a self-financing basis since inception in August 2000. It is one of the six constituent colleges of BPUT.
CIME has been offering two years full-time MCA (Master in Computer Application) since the academic session 2001–02 with due approval of AICTE and Government of Odisha. From the academic session 2005–06, CIME has been offering a two years full-time Master in Business Administration (MBA) with the approval of AICTE and Government of Odisha. CIME takes candidates only through Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Counseling.

Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR) formerly College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar (CETB) is a public technical unitary university under the state government of Odisha located in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, India. It was established in 1981, by Government of Orissa, as a constituent college of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology. Students are admitted to the college through the Joint Entrance Examination (main) merit list of Government of India. The college is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and the Government of Odisha has granted unitary university status to this college.
The National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) was established in 1996 by a group of academicians and technocrats educated in the established institutes of India and abroad. It also offers five year BArch courses. It offers postgraduate degree courses in engineering. The college has 179 acres (0.72 km2) of land and it is situated near the country. Currently, Dr. Satyabrata Mohanta is the director of the institute.
Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) is a public state university located in Rourkela, Odisha, India. It was established on 21 November 2002 and was named after Biju Patnaik, the former Chief Minister of Odisha.

Konark Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) is a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar, Orissa in India. It was founded by the Vidya Sagar Charitable Trust in 2001. With the approval of the AICTE, KIST was affiliated with Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneshwar. Later it became affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology in the year 2003–04.

The institute was established in 1999. In the beginning, the institute temporarily functioned in the campus of Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium, Sector 06 of city Rourkela, with small a number of students and faculty. In 2001 the institute moved to new campus located at Mandiakudar, 30 km away from the city Rourkela.

The Parala Maharaja engineering College was approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, Govt. of India and was affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Government of Odisha but now, it is an autonomous college from 21st January, 2021 along with GCE, Kalahandi and GCE, Keonjhar.
