Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR) formerly College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar (CETB) is a public technical unitary university under the state government of Odisha located in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, India. It was established in 1981, by Government of Orissa, as a constituent college of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology. Students are admitted to the college through the Joint Entrance Examination (main) merit list of Government of India. The college is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and the Government of Odisha has granted unitary university status to this college.

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) an autonomous institute is located at Sarang of Parjang block in Dhenkanal district in the Indian state of Odisha. It was established in 1982 by the government of Odisha. In addition to four year undergraduate degree courses, it offers three year Diploma courses in technical disciplines and a 3-year postgraduate degree in computer applications. It also offers five year BArch courses. It offers postgraduate degree courses in engineering. The college has 179 acres (0.72 km2) of land and it is situated near the country. Currently, Dr. Satyabrata Mohanta is the director of the institute.
Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) is a public state university located in Rourkela, Odisha, India. It was established on 21 November 2002 and was named after Biju Patnaik, the former Chief Minister of Odisha.

Orissa Engineering College, Bhubaneswar is a First private engineering college established in Odisha. It was set up in 1986. Orissa Engineering College is the Odisha Electronics Control Library result of the vision of Shri Kamini Kanta Patnaik. It was inaugurated by the then chief minister of Orissa Biju Patnaik. The college has alumni all across the world. The institute provides courses in B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA. The college is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology and has been approved by AICTE. The college has received NBA for three departments; Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Dushyant Mohanty, Sanjam Patnaik, Dilip Tripathy and Sidhartha Dash, Subhakanta Mishra, Binaya Parhy are some of the notable alumni who have made significant contribution to the corporate world.
Konark Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) is a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar, Orissa in India. It was founded by the Vidya Sagar Charitable Trust in 2001. With the approval of the AICTE, KIST was affiliated with Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneshwar. Later it became affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology in the year 2003–04.

Shiksha 'O' Anusandhan (SOA), formerly Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University , is a private deemed university located at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The university is composed of nine degree-granting schools and colleges and has a student body of around 15,000. Many of SOA's programs are nationally accredited, including engineering, medicine, pharmacy, business, nursing, biotechnology, science, humanities, environment, nano technology, materials science, agriculture and law.

In the beginning, the institute temporarily functioned in the campus of Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium, Sector 06 of city Rourkela, with small a number of students and faculty. In 2001 the institute moved to new campus located at Mandiakudar, 30 km away from the city Rourkela.
C. V. Raman Global University is an engineering and management institution located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It was established in 1997 as C.V. The Parala Maharaja engineering College was approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, Govt. of India and was affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Government of Odisha but now, it is an autonomous college from 21st January, 2021 along with GCE, Kalahandi and GCE, Keonjhar. This college is also accredited as "B+" by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) New Delhi, Govt. of India.
Gandhi Institute For Technology (GIFT), Bhubaneswar is a private engineering institution located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The institute is affiliated to BPUT and has been approved by AICTE. Gandhi Institute of Advanced Computer & Research, Rayagada (GIACR), formerly IACR, is an engineering college located in Rayagada, in the state of Odisha, India. It was established in 1999 by Rabindranath Educational Trust, Rayagada with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi and Government of Odisha and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology. GIACR is certified with ISO 9001:2008 by Bureau Veritas for the Quality Management System.
The Barrister Ranjit Mohanty Group of Institution (BRM) group of Institution was established in 2000 as BRM trust for providing education in computer science for school students for Government of Odisha. Subsequently it diversified by adding engineering, management and vocational courses to its curriculum. All the courses except diploma engineering courses are affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology. The diploma engineering courses are affiliated to SCTE & VT of Odisha.
