Colonial Hills Christian School was a private Christian school located in East Point and Lithia Springs, Georgia, United States. The school was founded in 1959 and was affiliated with the Colonial Hills Baptist Church.
The Colonial Hills Christian School was established in East Point, Georgia, in the fall of 1959. [1] During its debut 1959–60 academic year the school offered elementary classes running from 1st to 4th grade. [1] This was expanded for the 1960–61 academic year to include 5th and 6th grade classes. [2] By the time of its fourth year in existence, 7th grade classes were offered. [3]
The school eventually came to be housed in a three building complex and to offer classes from kindergarten through 12th grade. [4]
The school offered a broad curriculum for an institution of its size, with classes including calculus and physics as well as band and team sports. [4]
School enrollment eventually peaked at about 500 students but began to attenuate during the 1980s — a decline paralleled by a fall in membership of the Colonial Hills Baptist Church, the sponsoring religious entity. [4] A change of locations was deemed necessary and a number of neighboring counties were ruled out due to the presence of Christian schools there. [4] A new home was eventually found in Lithia Springs, located in Douglas County. [4] A satellite campus was established there in 1993 in anticipation of the move. [4]
At the end of the 1994–95 school year, the buildings which comprised the East Point campus were sold, as was the sanctuary of the Colonial Hills Baptist Church, with an organization called Wings of Faith Church taking over the old church building. [4]
Enrollment during the 1994-95 academic year was down to about 250 — just half of the school's peak. [5] Despite this the school still maintained athletic teams in football, softball, and other sports. [5]
Following the move bus service was offered to East Point students who sought to attend the school at its new Lithia Springs location. [4]

Roswell High School (RHS) is a public high school in Roswell, Georgia, United States which opened in 1949. It serves the entire city of Roswell west of Georgia State Route 400 and the city of Mountain Park, as well as small portions of Alpharetta and Milton. Roswell High School neighbors both Fellowship Christian School and Blessed Trinity Catholic High School. It is also the second oldest of Fulton County's schools in the northern portion of the county, opening between Milton High School (1921), and Chattahoochee High School (1991). American Baptist College is a private, Baptist college in Nashville, Tennessee, affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, USA. Founded in 1924, its predecessor in black Baptist education was Roger Williams University, a Nashville college begun in the late-19th century and closed in the early 20th century. Upon full accreditation by the American Association of Bible Colleges, ABTS dropped use of the term "Theological Seminary" and renamed itself American Baptist College. The college has an 82% acceptance rate. In Fall 2019, 77% of students were retained after the first year of attendance.
Missouri Baptist University (MBU) is a private Southern Baptist university in Creve Coeur, Missouri. It is one of three universities of the Missouri Baptist Convention. The main campus is located on a 68-acre site near Creve Coeur and Town and County in West St Louis County, off highway 64-40. There are currently 12 MBU locations including its regional learning centers throughout the St. Louis region and Illinois. The school enrolled 5,309 students in 2019.
Point University is a private evangelical Christian college in West Point, Georgia and was founded in 1937 as Atlanta Christian College in East Point. The college announced its name change to Point University in 2011 and relocated its main campus to West Point in June 2012. As of 2022, over 2,000 students are enrolled both onsite and online.
Maynard H. Jackson High School is a high school of 1,551 students, with the capacity for 1,500. Jackson High is located in southeast Atlanta, Georgia, United States along the BeltLine in Grant Park, just south of I-20. The school is a part of Atlanta Public Schools. Northpoint Christian School (NCS) is a private Christian school located in Southaven, Mississippi, that has been described as a white flight school. The school was founded in 1973 by a group of ten White Southern Baptist churches in the Whitehaven section of Memphis, Tennessee, at a time when public schools were integrating Black and White students. Programs for kindergarten through Grade 8 began in 1973, and grades 9-12 were added the following year. As of 2014, the school was the third-largest private school in Greater Memphis.
