The Connacht Tribune (An Curadh Connachtach) is a newspaper circulating chiefly in County Galway, Ireland.
Published as a regional newspaper for County Galway, the Tribune Group prints two titles every week - the Connacht Tribune on Thursday and the Galway City Tribune on Friday. Connacht Tribune Group newspapers are circulated in every district of the city and every town and village in the county. As of January 2007, [update] its weekly readership was over 150,000.
In 1925, the Connacht Tribune stable began publishing the Connacht Sentinel, which was joined in 1984 by the Galway City Tribune.[ citation needed ] The Connacht Sentinel ceased publication in 2014. [1] [2] Since then, the Connacht Tribune has focused mainly on news relating to County Galway. In addition to a number of staff journalists, the paper also employs a number of reporters around the county for specific regional coverage.[ citation needed ]

As of 2004, former hurler John McIntyre was sports editor of the Connacht Tribune. [4]
In 2006 the newspaper purchased Galway's local radio station, Galway Bay FM. [5]
The last broadsheet-size Galway City Tribune was published on Friday 11 October 2013 and, on 18 October 2013, it moved to tabloid. On Thursday 27 March 2014, the last big Connacht Tribune hit the shops - reduced to tabloid on Thursday 3 April 2014.[ citation needed ] In 2014, the final edition of the Connacht Sentinel was published. The Sunday Tribune was an Irish Sunday broadsheet newspaper published by Tribune Newspapers plc. It was edited in its final years by Nóirín Hegarty, who changed both the tone and the physical format of the newspaper from broadsheet to tabloid. Previous editors were Conor Brady, Vincent Browne, Peter Murtagh, Matt Cooper and Paddy Murray. The Sunday Tribune was founded in 1980, closed in 1982, relaunched in 1983 and entered receivership in February 2011 after which it ceased to trade.
The Belfast Telegraph is a daily newspaper published in Belfast, Northern Ireland, by Independent News & Media, which also publishes the Irish Independent, the Sunday Independent and various other newspapers and magazines in Ireland. Salthill is a seaside area in the city of Galway in the west of Ireland. Lying within the townland of Lenaboy, it attracts tourists all year round. There is a 2 km long promenade, locally known as the Prom, which overlooks Galway Bay and has several bars, restaurants and hotels.
The College Tribune is a student newspaper which serves Ireland's largest third level institution, University College Dublin. It was established in 1989 with the assistance of journalist and broadcaster Vincent Browne who was attending the university as an evening student at the time. Browne noted the campus' lack of a news outlet which was independent of both the university and University College Dublin Students' Union and alongside founding editor Eamon Dillon set up the Tribune to correct this. Initially, a close working relationship was maintained between the Tribune and the Sunday Tribune which was at the time edited by Browne. This relationship afforded the paper the use of professional production facilities in its fledgling years. Ultimately however, the student newspaper would outlast its national weekly counterpart with the Sunday Tribune having ceased publication in 2011. The College Tribune is UCD's oldest surviving newspaper having been published continuously for over 30 years.

Anthony Cunningham is a former hurler who has since managed various Gaelic football and hurling teams. He was manager of the Galway county hurling team between 2011 and 2015 and of the Roscommon county football team between 2018 and 2022. He is the only manager to lead a football team and a hurling team to provincial titles in two different provinces.
Galway Bay FM is an Irish independent local radio station and operates under a licence from the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland. Established in 1989, the station broadcasts from studios in Galway, serving the city and County Galway.

Fiachra Breathnach is an Irish Gaelic footballer from Galway. Breathnach played his club football with Naomh Anna, Leitir Móir before transferring to St Vincents, and is a former county footballer for the Galway senior football panel.
James Fahy was an Irish journalist broadcaster, journalist and documentary-maker. He was the Western Editor for RTÉ News and was RTÉ's longest-serving regional correspondent at the time of his retirement in 2011.
John Cunningham an Irish journalist from Salthill, Galway. He was national journalist of the year in 1979. He was editor of the Waterford News & Star from 1982 to 1984 and editor of the Connacht Tribune from 1984 to 2007. Cunningham was also a journalism lecturer in National University of Ireland, Galway. He was awarded an honorary MA in 2006 by NUIG.
