Constituency WR-16 is a reserved seat for women in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. [1]
Dir is a region in northwestern Pakistan, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Before Pakistan was created, Dir was a princely state, and it remained so until 1969 when it was abolished by a presidential declaration, with the Dir District being created the following year. Dir District was 5,280 square kilometres in area and lay along the disputed border controlled by the Afghan nationalists. The region is situated between Chitral and Peshawar. In 1996 the district was split into Lower Dir and Upper Dir.
Lower Dir District is a district in Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. Timergara city is the district headquarters and largest city, while the second largest city is Chakdara.
Upper Dir District is a district in Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The town of Dir is the district headquarters.
NA-5 is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. It comprises the whole district of Upper Dir. The area was formerly part of NA-33 constituency from 1977 to 2018. That constituency also included parts of the district of Lower Dir. The delimitation in 2018 split Upper Dir and Lower Dir into separate constituencies. The constituency for Upper Dir was named NA-5.
NA-6 is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. The area was formerly part of NA-34 constituency from 1977 to 2018. The delimitation in 2018 split Lower Dir into two separate constituencies, NA-6 and NA-7.
NA-8 is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. It covers tho whole of district Malakand. The constituency was formerly known as NA-35 (Malakand) from 1977 to 2018. The name changed to NA-8 (Malakand) after the delimitation in 2018.
