The Consulate General of the United States, Dubai is a United States diplomatic mission in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Consulate-General serves Dubai and the five northern Emirates, comprising Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah. [2]

History

The United States opened an embassy branch office in Dubai on 1 December 1976, located in Al Futtaim Building on the Creek Road in Deira. The branch office was moved to the Dubai World Trade Centre in 1981, located on Sheikh Zayed Road. On 1 December 1985, the embassy branch office was designated as a Consulate-General. The US Consulate-General is now hosted in the New Consulate Compound (NCC), a six-acre site in Bur Dubai located adjacent to the Dubai Creek, inaugurated in 2011. [2]
