Coprothermobacterales is a taxonomic order of thermophilic bacteria in the class Coprothermobacteria of the phylum Coprothermobacterota. [1] [2]
Its name derives from the type genus of this order, Coprothermobacter , with the ending suffix '-ales', to denote an order. [1]
The bacteria of this order have a rod-shaped morphology, do not produce spores, are nonmotile, strictly anaerobic and, being thermophiles, grow at temperature ranges above 35°C and below 70°C, for a pH between 5.0 and 9.4. Moreover, these bacteria are chemoorganotrophs and proteolytic fermenters, which produce acetic acid, H2, and CO2 as main end-products of fermentation. [3]
The family Thermodesulfobiaceae according to the LPSN is located within the order Thermoanaerobacterales and class Clostridia. However, according to the All-Species Living Tree Project it lies outside the clade Bacillota and the genus Caldanaerovirga does not belong to the clade, i.e. Thermodesulfobiaceae is polyphyletic.
Undibacterium is a genus of Gram-negative, oxidase- and catalase-positive Betaproteobacteria in the Oxalobacteraceae family. Undibacterium bacteria occurs in drinking water.
Serratia aquatilis is a Gram-negative and rod-shaped bacteria from the genus of Serratia, which has been isolated from drinking-water systems.
Roseivirga is a strictly aerobic genus from the phylum Bacteroidota.
Arcicella is a genus of aerobic bacteria from the family of Spirosomaceae.
Blastococcus is a Gram-positive, coccoid and aerobic genus of bacteria from the family of Geodermatophilaceae.
Oscillospiraceae is a family of bacteria in the class Clostridia. All Oscillospiraceae are obligate anaerobes. However, members of the family have diverse shapes, with some rod-shaped and others cocci.
Gulosibacter is a Gram-positive, strictly aerobic, non-spore-forming and non-motile genus of bacteria from the family Microbacteriaceae.
Labedella is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, aerobic and non-motile genus of bacteria from the family Microbacteriaceae. Labedella is named after David P. Labeda.
Coprothermobacterota is a phylum of nonmotile, rod-shaped bacteria.
Coprothermobacteria is a taxonomic class of bacteria in the phylum Coprothermobacterota.
Coprothermobacteraceae is a bacterial family of rod-shaped microorganisms, belonging to the order Coprothermobacterales, class Coprothermobacteria of the phylum Coprothermobacterota.
Coprothermobacter is a genus of rod-shaped microorganisms, belonging to the bacterial family Coprothermobacteraceae of the phylum Coprothermobacterota. This taxonomic genus has been reclassified in 2018, after different phylogenetic studies showed that these bacteria represented a deeply branched taxon of the domain Bacteria; consequently, the clade including this genus has been classified in a separate phylum from Firmicutes, the phylum where it was included before reclassification.
Coprothermobacter platensis is a species of moderately thermophilic and strictly anaerobic bacterium belonging to the family Coprothermobacteraceae within the phylum Coprothermobacterota.
Knoellia is a genus of Gram positive, aerobic, non-endosporeforming bacteria. Species in this genus are mesophilic and have cells that are irregular rods or coccoid.
Alkalihalobacillus is a genus of gram-positive or gram-variable rod-shaped bacteria in the family Bacillaceae from the order Bacillales. The type species of this genus is Alkalihalobacillus alcalophilus.
Peribacillus is a genus of rod-shaped bacteria that exhibits Gram-positive or Gram-variable staining that belongs in the family Bacillaceae within the order Bacillales. The type species for this genus is Peribacillus simplex.
Mesobacillus is a genus of gram-positive or gram-variable, rod-shaped bacteria in the family Bacillaceae within the order Bacillales. The type species for this genus is Mesobacillus jeotgali.
Margalitia is a genus of gram-positive or gram-variable rod-shaped bacteria in the family Bacillaceae from the order Bacillales. The type species of this genus is Margalitia shackletonii.
Alkalicoccus is a genus of Gram-Positive rod-shaped bacteria in the family Bacillaceae from the order Bacillales. The type species of this genus is Alkalicoccus saliphilus.
