The Parliament of Queensland is the legislature of Queensland,Australia. As provided under the Constitution of Queensland,the Parliament consists of the Monarch of Australia and the Legislative Assembly. It has been the only unicameral state legislature in the country since the upper chamber,the Legislative Council,was abolished in 1922. The Legislative Assembly sits in Parliament House in the state capital,Brisbane.
Michael James Horan,AM is a former Australian politician who represented the seat of Toowoomba South in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 18 May 1991 to 24 March 2012. Originally he was a member of the National Party of Australia,but follow its merger he is now a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland until his retirement.
Mark Francis McArdle is an Australian politician and former Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Queensland. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland between 2004 and 2020,representing the electorate of Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. Initially a Liberal Party member,in 2007 he became the party leader and the following year oversaw a merger with the National Party that produced the Liberal National Party.
Kate Jennifer Jones is an Australian former politician from Queensland. She served as a Labor Party Member of Parliament in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 2006 to 2012,and again from 2015 to 2020. Jones first represented the seat of Ashgrove until she was defeated by eventual Premier Campbell Newman at the 2012 state election. Jones retook the seat for the Labor Party at the 2015 state election. The seat was abolished prior to the 2017 state election,so Jones contested and won the new seat of Cooper at that election. In the Palaszczuk Government,she was the Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development,Minister for State Development and the Minister for the Commonwealth Games.
David Francis Gibson is a former Australian politician who served as the 18th member for Gympie in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 2006 to 2015. In January 2015 Gibson retired from State politics.
Stirling James Hinchliffe,is an Australian politician. Born in Dalby,Queensland,he was educated at state schools and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland. He was a property industry analyst,policy manager,policy advisor and executive officer before his entry into politics. He had a long involvement with the Australian Labor Party,which included a position as National Secretary of Young Labor in 1995. In the 2006 Queensland state election,he was elected to the safe Labor seat of Stafford,which he represented until being defeated in the 2012 Queensland state election. Raymond Alexander Stevens is an Australian politician,currently serving as Member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland representing Mermaid Beach for the Liberal National Party. He previously served as Manager of Opposition Business in the Legislative Assembly.

She was first elected for the seat of Bulimba to the Queensland State Parliament for the Labor Party at the 2009 Queensland election but lost her seat at the 2012 election to Aaron Dillaway of the Liberal National Party. Farmer defeated Dillaway at the 2015 election to regain Bulimba for Labor and was re-elected in 2017 and 2020.

The Leader of the House,also known as the Manager of Government Business is responsible for managing and scheduling Government business in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland. The office is held by a member of the Ministry;until 2009,the office was always held by a Cabinet minister,but Judy Spence held the office as parliamentary secretary. Under changes made in October 2011,the office was given a salary greater than its holder would otherwise earn by virtue of his or her other ministerial office. The Leader of the House is the Chair of the Committee of the Legislative Assembly,which has responsibility for the way the body is run.
