Crans Castle is a castle in the municipality of Crans in the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. [1]

The 2007 Tour de Suisse, the 71st edition of the cycle race, took place from 16 June until 24 June. As usual, the race began with a short prologue and featured a long individual time trial. Besides, riders also had to face several mountain stages in the Swiss Alps, including the Grimselpass, a 12.1 kilometres long climb with an average gradient of 6.6% and slopes at 10%. It was founded in 1965 in memory of Olivier Barras, 9-time Swiss champion golfer who died in a car crash the 21 June 1964 in Monza racing on the track.
The ruins of the rock castle called Fairy Rock are located in the municipality of Crans-Montana, Valais, Switzerland, between Mollens and Aminona, more precisely in a rock face at the hamlet Les Echerts. The ruins are rather well preserved, and can be easily admired from nearby. Due to its location in the rock, however, accessing the inside is difficult. The rock castle was built at the end of the 12th century, and was probably used as a refuge during the wars and raids of that period.
