Crossings TV is an Asian American television network headquartered in Sacramento, California, launched in 2005. [1] The network airs Asian programming in 7 of the biggest Asian markets across the U.S. (Greater Los Angeles, Central Valley, San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Greater Chicago, Greater Seattle, and Minneapolis/ St. Paul) [2]

Background

Founder

Frank Washington, long-time media entrepreneur and ethnic media advocate, founded Crossings TV in 2005 to serve underrepresented groups in Sacramento, including the Russian and Hmong communities. Crossings TV was founded to bring a voice to these underrepresented communities in media and entertainment. [3] Washington, while at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), played a key role in the creation of low-power television services to bridge the gap between media and under-served groups. Crossings TV airs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Programming Genre

Crossings TV programming includes a variety of different genres including the News, Drama, Variety, Entertainment, Talk Show, Documentary, Children and Music.

Programming Language

As a multi-Asian language network, Crossings TV programming includes programs in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese), Hindi, Hmong, Japanese, Punjabi, Russian, Tagalog and Vietnamese. The language block and schedules vary between different broadcasting locations. [5]

Programming Partners

Crossings TV partners with a variety of international television networks to bring high-quality in-language content. The network partners include ABS-CBN, TV5, Phoenix TV, Jiangsu, VIETV, and RTVI.

Programming Schedule

From 2005 to November 1, 2021, all 6 Crossing TV areas air in local areas in different genres. On October 5, 2021, Crossings TV announced that the network will have a new programming schedule and also continues to run its programming in new-time blocks nationwide. The new national programming schedule went effect on November 1, 2021. [6]

Community

The network works with many community organizations and partners to engage with and build the community. [7] Community partners include Asian Film Lab, My Sister’s House, etc.

WSHS (91.7) is a student-run high school radio and public radio station operating on a non-commercial license in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Ion Plus American broadcast television network

Ion Plus is an American free linear television network owned by Ion Media that formerly operated as a broadcast television network until February 28, 2021. With expanded cable carriage, in 2019, Ion Media converted the network into a general entertainment format that matched that of parent network Ion Television, featuring day-long marathons of various drama series.

The 2021–22 daytime network television schedule for the five major English-language commercial broadcast networks in the United States covers the weekday and weekend daytime hours from September 2021 to August 2022.
