Cunningham [1] is an unincorporated community within the Cunningham Township of Person County in North Carolina, United States, which bears the name of a local landowner and planter, John W. Cunningham, according to Powell. [2] Also, a post office was established there, possibly as early as 1822. It is also home to Waverly Plantation which was built circa 1830 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
Robeson County is a county in the southern part of the U.S. state of North Carolina and is its largest county by land area. Its county seat and largest city is Lumberton. The county was formed in 1787 from part of Bladen County and named in honor of Thomas Robeson, a colonel who had led Patriot forces in the area during the Revolutionary War. As of the 2020 census, the county's population was 116,530. It is a majority-minority county; its residents are approximately 38 percent Native American, 22 percent white, 22 percent black, and 10 percent Hispanic. It is included in the Fayetteville-Lumberton-Laurinburg, NC Combined Statistical Area. The state-recognized Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina is headquartered in Pembroke.

Lemon Springs is an unincorporated community in southern Lee County, North Carolina, United States. It lies south of Sanford, and southeast of Tramway. The community is centered on The Fastop Convenience store, now known as Eagles when the long-standing Fastop was sold, the business shares a building with the Fastop Grill. The Greenwood Elementary School is the only one in the Lemon Springs community, before there were closer Middle and High schools, Greenwood was for grades K-12. The Lemon Springs area is only approximately one mile across, but features a volunteer fire department, a post office, a Methodist Church, a Baptist Church, an Apostolic Church, a quarry, and a Gas Station.
