The 2009 United States Olympic Curling Team Trials were held from February 21 to 28, 2009 at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Trials have been held ever since curling returned to the Olympics as a demonstration sport in 1988. The trials also constituted the 2009 United States National Curling Championships.
The 2009 World Junior Curling Championships were held from 5 March 2009 to 15 March 2009 in the newly completed Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre, which was the site for curling during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Curling at the 2011 Winter Universiade took place at the Milli Piyango Curling Arena from January 27 to February 6. Ten men's and women's teams were qualified to compete in the Universiade based on their performance at the previous competition and at the 2009 and 2010 World Junior Curling Championships and the 2009 and 2010 Men's and Women's Curling Championships. They competed in a round-robin format, and the top four teams advanced to a single knockout round to determine the final placements.
The 2011 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships were held from November 19 to 26 at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center in Nanjing, China. The Pacific Championships acted as the Pacific Zone qualifiers for the 2012 World Curling Championships. The top two women's berths qualified for the 2012 Ford World Women's Curling Championship in Lethbridge, Alberta, while the top two men's berths qualified for the 2012 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship in Basel, Switzerland.
The 2013 World Women's Curling Championship was held at the Volvo Sports Centre in Riga, Latvia from March 16 to 24. It marked the first time that Latvia has hosted the World Women's Championship. This event was also a qualifying event for the 2014 Winter Olympics, awarding points to countries based on performance at the worlds.
The 2013 World Junior Curling Championships were held from February 28 to March 10 at the Ice Cube Curling Center in Sochi, Russia. Sochi is also scheduled to host the curling tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Curling at the 2003 Winter Universiade took place from January 17 to 23 at the Curling Arena in Tarvisio, Italy.
The men's tournament of the 2013 European Curling Championships will be held from November 22 to 30 at the Sørmarka Arena in Stavanger, Norway. The winners of the Group C tournament in Tårnby, Denmark will move on to the Group B tournament. The top eight men's teams at the 2013 European Curling Championships will represent their respective nations at the 2014 World Men's Curling Championship in Beijing, China.
Curling at the 2013 Winter Universiade was held from December 12 to 20 at the Ice Rink Piné at Baselga di Piné in Trentino, Italy.
The men's tournament of the 2014 European Curling Championships was held from November 22 to 29 at the Palladium de Champéry in Champéry, Switzerland. The winners of the Group C tournament in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands will move on to the Group B tournament. The top eight men's teams at the 2014 European Curling Championships will represent their respective nations at the 2015 Ford World Men's Curling Championship in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Curling at the 2015 Winter Universiade was held from February 5 to 13 at the Pabellón de Universiada in Granada, Spain.
The men's tournament of the 2015 European Curling Championships were held from November 20 to 28 in Esbjerg, Denmark. The winners of the Group C tournament in Champéry, Switzerland would be promoted to the Group B tournament. The top seven men's teams at the 2015 European Curling Championships would represent their respective nations at the 2016 World Men's Curling Championship in Basel, Switzerland.

The top eight men's teams at the 2016 European Curling Championships will represent their respective nations at the 2017 Ford World Men's Curling Championship in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Curling at the 2017 Winter Universiade was held from January 30 to February 7 at the Almaty Arena in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The 2017 World Junior Curling Championships was held from February 16 to 26 at the Gangneung Curling Centre in Gangneung, South Korea.
The 2019 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships was held from November 2 to 9 at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen, China. The top men's team and the top two women's teams qualified for the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship and 2020 World Women's Curling Championship respectively. The next two placed teams of each gender qualified for the World Qualification Event, a chance to qualify for the World Curling Championships.
The 2021 European Curling Championships were held in September and November 2021, to qualify European curling teams for the 2022 World Curling Championships and World Qualification Event. The A and B division competitions were held from November 20 to 27 in Lillehammer, Norway. The C division competition was held from September 12 to 17 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The 2022 World Senior Curling Championships was held from April 23 to 30 at the Curling Club Trois-Chêne in the Geneva Sous-Moulin Sports Center in Thônex, a suburb of Geneva, Switzerland. The event was held alongside the 2022 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.
The 2022 Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships was held in May and November 2022, to qualify European curling teams for the 2023 World Curling Championships. The A and B division competitions were held from November 18 to 26 at the Östersund Arena in Östersund, Sweden. The C division competition was held from April 30 to May 5 at the Kaunas Ice Palace in Kaunas, Lithuania.
