Curse: The Eye of Isis is a survival horror video game that was developed by British studio Asylum Entertainment and published by DreamCatcher Interactive and Wanadoo for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Windows. It was released stateside for Windows in October 2003 and for Xbox in April 2004. The PlayStation 2 version was only released in Europe.
It shares the same sort of atmospheric setting, gameplay, fixed camera angles, and ammo preservation as the earlier Resident Evil games, as well as many other archetypal survival horror games in the genre, such as ObsCure and Silent Hill .
The Xbox version of the game was very briefly backwards compatible with the Xbox 360, but was removed from the list because of glitches on December 1, 2005. The game remains unplayable on that system.
The game is set in 1890s victorian London. Darien Dane was invited by his childhood female friend Victoria Sutton to see the egyptian exhibition at the British Museum, where an ancient and valuable statue known as the Eye of Isis, recovered by Darien's father, the archaeologist, Dr. Stanley Dane. However, upon arriving, he finds the museum is closed, because some thieves break in and steal the statue and unleash a powerful curse that brings back to life the mummies and other dead. Darien is also trapped in the museum and, with the help of Abdul Wahid — a friend of his parents — faces thugs, mummies and revived dead, seeking to save his female friend and to end the curse.

The game received mixed reception upon release. [6]
TeamXbox gave a mixed review, categorizing many aspects of the game as "average" or "decent." The reviewer praised the game's voice acting, but stated the game overused its "random freaky noise effect." He also found the graphics generally acceptable but they "seem[ed] just a tad too flat" and had "little life". His overall opinion was that gamers looking for an "el cheapo title" might consider it "worth the twenty bucks". [13]
Game Informer gave a generally negative review, comparing the game to a "B-grade horror movie" and a "19th century version of Resident Evil ", and stated that "the menus are clunky, the map is useless, and combat is too easy", although the controls were noted as above average, especially compared to the Resident Evil series. Survival horror is a subgenre of horror games. Although combat can be part of the gameplay, the player is made to feel less in control than in typical action games through limited ammunition or weapons, health, speed, and vision, or through various obstructions of the player's interaction with the game mechanics. The player is also challenged to find items that unlock the path to new areas and solve puzzles to proceed in the game. Alone in the Dark is a survival horror video game series originally developed by Infogrames. In most of the games, the player controls private investigator Edward Carnby, who goes to investigate a haunted house or town that is full of undead creatures.
The Suffering is a first and third-person shooter horror video game, developed by Surreal Software for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Microsoft Windows. The game was published by Midway Games for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The PC version was published by Encore in North America and by Zoo Digital Publishing in Europe. In North America, the game was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in March 2004, and for PC in June of the same year. In Europe, it was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in May, and for PC in July. A port was also planned for the GameCube, but was cancelled. In 2017, the game was released on GOG.com by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the current owner of the IP after acquiring publisher Midway Games' assets following the latter company's bankruptcy in 2009.
Resident Evil 4 is a 2005 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom for the GameCube. Players control the special agent Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to rescue the US president's daughter, Ashley Graham, who has been kidnapped by a religious cult in rural Spain. Leon fights hordes of enemies infected by a mind-controlling parasite and reunites with the spy Ada Wong. In a departure from the fixed camera angles and slower gameplay of previous Resident Evil games, Resident Evil 4 features a dynamic camera system and action-oriented gameplay.
Haunted House is a 1982 adventure video game programmed by James Andreasen for the Atari Video Computer System and published by Atari. The player controls an avatar shaped like a pair of eyes who explores a mansion seeking out parts of an urn to return to the entrance. Dragon's Lair 3D: Return to the Lair is an action-adventure game released in 2002 by Ubi Soft. It is based on 1983 arcade video game Dragon's Lair and follows a similar story: Dirk the Daring must enter the evil wizard Mordroc's castle to rescue Princess Daphne from Singe the Dragon. Many of the characters and locations from the 1983 original make appearances in the game, along with new puzzles, rooms and enemies. Animator and director Don Bluth, who produced the cartoon animation for the original Dragon's Lair, produced new animated sequences for the opening and ending of the game. The game uses cel shading to mimic the style of the hand-drawn art of the 1983 game.
Run Like Hell is a third-person shooter video game developed by Digital Mayhem, published by Interplay Entertainment and distributed in Europe by Avalon Interactive for the PlayStation 2 in late 2002 and for Xbox in early 2003. In Japan, the PS2 version was released by Capcom in 2004.

Karma: Curse of the 12 Caves is a 1995 FMV adventure game. In 1998, DreamCatcher Interactive re-released the game as Quest for Karma. The game was released in Japan for PlayStation and Sega Saturn as Takuramakan.

Maid of Sker is a 2020 first-person survival horror game developed and published by Wales Interactive. The game is set in 1898 in the Sker Hotel, on an imaginary island called Sker Island. The protagonist, Thomas Evans, is invited by his lover, Elisabeth Williams, to uncover the mysteries of the hotel after she notices her family's strange behavior. While exploring the hotel, Thomas learns cult followers called "The Quiet Ones" control the place. He finds notes and gramophone records scattered around the hotel that reveal the history of Elisabeth's family.
Evil Dead: The Game is a 2022 asymmetric survival horror game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Boss Team Games. It is part of the Evil Dead franchise. It features Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, along with most of the original cast reprising their roles.
