D. J. Leahy was a hurler from County Kerry. He Played with the Kerry county and Causeway teams along with his brother Maurice. He scored a goal from a long-range free to give Kerry the impetus to drive on and win there 1993 Munster Senior Hurling Championship win over Waterford. He Won 5 County Championships with Causeway in 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1987. He also won a Railway Cup with Munster in 1985. He won All Ireland B titles in 1983 and 1985 with Kerry.

He was manager for the glory period of Desmonds, and highlights include first North Kerry Senior Football Championship win, Intermediate and club championship wins, two All-Ireland club finals in a row as well as being manager for Desmonds only county final appearance in a county final when they were beaten by eventual All-Ireland Champions, Dr. Crokes. He was also manager of Castleisland District team in the 1979 County final. Geaney was a Kerry GAA medical officer from 1975 to 2012. He was named by new Kerry manager Pat O'Shea as a selector for the 2007 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Kerry won the 2007 championship and reached the 2008 final.

Maurice Leahy is a retired Irish hurling manager and former player. He played hurling with his local club Causeway and with the Kerry senior inter-county team from 1977 until 1989. Leahy later served as manager of the Kerry senior inter-county team on six separate occasions.

Stephen Stack was a Gaelic footballer who played with Kerry and Listowel Emmets. He was right corner back on the Kerry team that won the 1997 All Ireland. He was also a member of the 1986 winning team which made him the sole winner of medals in 1986 and 1997. He also won an All Ireland Junior Medal in 1994. He had a reputation as a tight marking defender and a leader in the backs. He plays his club football with his local club Finuge and with his divisional side Feale Rangers and has enjoyed much success. He also plays hurling with his local club Lixnaw. Billy OShea

Billy O'Shea was a Gaelic footballer from Killorglin, County Kerry. He played with the Kerry intercounty team at all levels during the 1990s and with his club Laune Rangers.

The Kerry county hurling team represents Kerry in hurling and is governed by Kerry GAA, the County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the Joe McDonagh Cup and the National Hurling League.
