Dynein axonemal intermediate chain 7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DNAI7 gene, also sometimes known as LAS1; CASC1; CFAP94; or PPP1R54. The protein is sometimes referred to as cancer susceptibility 1. [5]

Casc1, alias Las1, is one of the six genes constituting the mouse Pulmonary adenoma susceptibility 1 (Pas1) locus haplotype. [6]

The neuropeptide S receptor (NPSR) is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor superfamily of integral membrane proteins which binds neuropeptide S (NPS). It was formerly an orphan receptor, GPR154, until the discovery of neuropeptide S as the endogenous ligand. Increased expression of this gene in ciliated cells of the respiratory epithelium and in bronchial smooth muscle cells is associated with asthma. This gene is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor 1 family and encodes a plasma membrane protein. Mutations in this gene have also been associated with this disease.

Cleft lip and palate transmembrane protein 1-like protein, also known as cisplatin resistance-related protein 9 (CRR9p), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CLPTM1L gene. CRR9p is associated with cisplatin-induced apoptosis. CLPTM1L, which lies within a cancer susceptibility locus on chromosome 5 (5p15.33), has been found to be commonly over-expressed in lung tumors and to confer resistance to apoptosis caused by genotoxic agents in association with up-regulation of the anti-apoptotic protein, Bcl-xL. Inhibition of CLPTM1L has been shown to inhibit oncogenic transformation and tumorigenesis caused by the KRas oncogene partially through the PI3K/Akt survival signaling axis.
