Da Next Level is the second album by the American rapper Mr. Serv-On. [2] [3] It was released on February 16, 1999, as planned, through No Limit Records and Priority Records. It was produced entirely by the label's in-house production team, Beats By the Pound. It was the rapper's last album on No Limit Records.

Commercial Performance

The album was more critically and commercially successful than the first album, debuting at number 14 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. [4] [5] It sold nearly 300,000 copies in its first week. The album's single was "From N.Y to N.O.", featuring Big Pun.

Critical reception

The San Diego Union-Tribune wrote that "a few introspective cuts, namely 'I Hate the Way I Live', 'My Homies' and 'Best Friend II', showcase his knack for writing touching, heartfelt ballads." [6]

The album peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200 and number 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart selling 160,000 copies in its first week, but the group never released a follow-up and have not been heard of since. Lawson is credited on close to 300 studio recordings covering over 100 studio albums. No Limit Greatest Hits is a 2006 two-disc greatest hits album released on August 1, 2006 by Priority Records. The compilation managed to make it to #56 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Prior to the release of this compilation, No Limit Records went bankrupt in 2003 which resulted in Master P selling the back catalog of the label. Today, EMI owns the No Limit back catalog. Due to no longer owning No Limit, Master P had no involvement in the making of this compilation.

Richard Anthony Jones, better known by his stage name Fiend, is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. His debut studio album, I Won't Be Denied (1995), was released by the local record label Big Boy Records, although he signed with its regional competitor, Master P's No Limit Records to release its follow-up, There's One in Every Family (1998). The latter peaked within the top ten of the Billboard 200 and was followed by his third album, Street Life (1999), which peaked at number 15 on the chart and served as his final release with No Limit.

No Limit Records is an American record company founded by Master P. The label's albums were distributed by Priority Records, Universal and Koch Records. The label included artists such as Snoop Dogg, Mercedes, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac, C-Murder, Magic, Romeo Miller, Fiend, Kane & Abel, and Soulja Slim. Anthony Boswell, head of Bout It Bout It Management, served as the vice president of operations as well as head of management for the label.
