Daas is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film written and directed by newcomer Babu Yogeswaran. The film stars Jayam Ravi and Renuka Menon in lead and Vadivelu, Adithya Menon, Shanmugarajan, Monica, Abhinay, and Salim Ghouse, among others, in supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film released on 29 July 2005 to mixed reviews but become a hit.
The film begins in a small village in Tirunelveli district where a few upper-caste men hold a chariot festival. Antony Daas (Jayam Ravi), along with his friends, pulls the chariot into their slum. The friends naturally incur the wrath of a local leader named Annachi (Shanmugarajan). Meanwhile, his daughter Rajeshwari (Renuka Menon) falls in love with Daas. Her sister Punitha (Monica) elopes to marry a lower-caste boy named Guna (Abhinay), who is a classmate of Daas. Coming to know about this, Annachi sends his men to bump off Punitha and Guna. He eventually sets them ablaze in front of Daas. An angry Rajeshwari, in order to teach her father a lesson, elopes with Daas and vows to get married. The couple then seeks refuge in Nasser's (Krishna) house in Madurai. He promises to get them married. However, coming to know about their hideout, Annachi's men reach Madurai to foil their plans. Nasser's father Vappa (Salim Ghouse) promises to get them united. Enters Nasser's brother Anwar (Adithya Menon), who plans to let loose terror in the Madurai town in the name of Jehad. How Daas emerges triumphant from all the troubles and marries Rajeshwari forms the rest of the story.
The film was initially titled as Rascal before it got changed as Daas named after the character of protagonist. [1] Daas was Jayam Ravi's third film and his first original film following two remakes, [2] the film featured him as a football player. [3] The filming was held at Pollachi for 25 days while the climax was shot at MGR Engineering College for 15 days. [4]

The musical score as well as the soundtrack were composed by noted music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. The soundtrack, released on 21 April 2005, features 6 songs, the lyrics for which are written by Pa. Vijay, Viveka and Yugabharathi. The song "Vaa Vaa" was reused from Ilaiyaraaja's old song "Adiye Manam Nilluna Nikkathadi" from the 1984 film Neengal Kettavai. [5] The song "Saami kitta" was a critical acclaim for the singers and the music director. Shreya Ghoshal received a nomination from Tamil Isai Viruthugal.

The film took an even bigger opening than his previous ones and was declared a hit as well. [6] He garnered positive remarks from critics, with Sify's reviewer claiming that Ravi was a "hundred percent convincing as an action hero," further labelling his performance as "impressive." [7] Lajjavathi of Kalki called it "one time watchable". [8]
Mohan Ravi, better known by his stage name Jayam Ravi, is an Indian actor who works in the Tamil cinema. The son of veteran film editor A. Mohan, Ravi made his lead acting debut in Jayam. He has won one Tamil Nadu State Film Award and one Filmfare Award South and three SIIMA Awards respectively.

Ameerin Aadhi-Bhagavan previously known as Aadhi Bhagavan, is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Ameer. Produced by DMK politician J. Anbazhagan, the film stars Jayam Ravi in the titular dual role as the hero (Aadhi) and villain (Bhagavan) along with Neetu Chandra, Saiju Kurup and Sudha Chandran. The film follows Aadhi, a Thailand-based gangster living separately from his mother and sister due to his criminal activities. His life changes when he rescues a young waitress from goons and soon finds himself drawn in a violent conspiracy hatched by Bhagavan, his Mumbai-based lookalike.

Co-produced by his wife Khushbu, the film also stars Anuya Bhagvath and Vadivelu in pivotal roles and features music by Thaman. Sundar's first directorial after four years, Nagaram released on 19 November 2010, it is based on the 1993 American film Carlito's Way. The film is very well known for comedy sequences and portrayal of the comic character "Style Pandi" by Vadivelu.

Neethaane En Ponvasantham is the soundtrack album, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, to the Indian romance film of the same name, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon that stars Jiiva and Samantha. Vettaikaaran (transl. Hunter) is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by debutant B. Babusivan and produced by AVM Productions. The film stars Vijay and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles, while Srihari, Salim Ghouse, Sayaji Shinde and Ravi Shankar appear in supporting roles. Gopinath handled the cinematography while V. T. Vijayan was the film's editor. This was Vijay's first film with AVM Productions and the only film B. Babusivan ever directed.
Miruthan (transl. Zombie) is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action horror film written and directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, starring Jayam Ravi, Lakshmi Menon and Anikha Surendran. D. Imman composed the music, while Venkatesh S. handled the cinematography. Shot in Ooty and Coimbatore within 54 days, the film derives its title from a hybrid of two words, Mirugam meaning animal and Manithan meaning man. Upon release, the film mainly received mixed reviews from critics.
