Sairandhri, better known by her stage name Seetha is an Indian actress and producer known for her works predominantly in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and a few Kannada films. [1]
Seetha married actor Parthiban in 1990. [2] The couple has two daughters P. S. Abhinaya and P. S. Keerthana and an adopted son P. S. Raakhi. [3] But their married life came to an end in 2001 after the couple decided to part ways. Parthiban shifted his focus into movies after divorce and is single. [4]
She married TV actor Sateesh in 2010. [5] The couple got divorced in 2016.
She made her debut in 1985 with the Tamil film Aan Paavam . After acting in films until 1991, Seetha took a hiatus before returning to the screen in 2002. [6] Some of Seetha`s most memorable roles have come in Tamil films like Thangachi (1987), Guru Sishyan (1988), Unnal Mudiyum Thambi (1988) and Pudhea Paadhai (1989). Seetha accepted the role of the heroine and the film went on to garner critical acclain and commercial success. [7] She has acted as heroine in earlier days and after that she has acted in supporting roles. Some of her Telugu films are Muddula Mavayya (1989), Muthyamantha Muddu (1989), Police Bharya (1990), Simhadri (2003) and Bunny (2005). [8] She has also won a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Rightaa Thappaa (2005). [9]
Seetha has acted in some Tamil and Telugu serials. She has acted in the Tamil serials Velan (2002-2004), Penn (2006) and Idhayam (2009-2012) for Sun TV. [10] Apart from her busy acting schedules in films and television serials Seetha also runs her own YouTube channel that has over 1.5 lakh and she uploads videos of important moments from her life, gardening and recipes. [11]
