It is about an elderly Maharashtrian couple living in Mumbai who come to terms with the loss of their only son. This was the screen debut of Anupam Kher. The film had music by Ajit Verman and lyrics by Vasant Dev. It was produced and distributed by Rajshri Productions. It was chosen as India's official entry for the 1985 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was not nominated.
Chaahat (transl. Desire) is a 1996 Indian Hindi-language romantic thriller film directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Pooja Bhatt, Naseeruddin Shah, Ramya Krishnan, and Anupam Kher. Shah Rukh Khan acquired the rights of this film from Mahesh Bhatt in October 2013 under the banner, Red Chillies Entertainment. The film was remade in Odia as Prem Rogi in 2009.

It is an unofficial remake of 1976 American film Taxi Driver. This film was remade in Tamil as Appu (2000). A sequel, Sadak 2, was released on 28 August 2020 on Disney+ Hotstar.
Gumrah is a 1993 Indian Hindi-language action crime drama film directed by Mahesh Bhatt and written jointly by Sujit Sen and Robin Bhatt. It stars Sanjay Dutt, Sridevi, Anupam Kher, and Rahul Roy. In the film, Roshni (Sridevi), an aspiring singer, is assisted by Rahul Malhotra (Roy) in flourishing her career and they fall in love. However, on a trip to Hong Kong, she is abandoned by him and later arrested by the police for supposed involvement in trafficking cocaine.

Smilie Suri or Smiley Suri is an Indian model, actress and dancer, who appears in Bollywood films. Suri made her debut in acting with the 2005 film, Kalyug, which was directed by her brother, Mohit Suri. The film turned out to be a certified box office huge success.
