Dale L. Orem (born April 24,1938) [1] is an American businessman,politician and civic leader who served as mayor of Jeffersonville,Indiana from 1984 to 1991. Orem was active in sports by playing for the University of Louisville and later coaching at the school. Orem was also a National Football League (NFL) official.
Orem attended the University of Louisville and participated in the sports program there before graduating in 1960. Orem played for the school's undefeated baseball team in 1957. Orem was the quarterback for the school's football team,which he led to a victory over Drake,34–20,in the Sun Bowl in 1958. [2] From 1969 to 1973,he was the head coach of the Louisville Cardinals baseball team. [3]
His other sports functions have included a stint as an NFL official from 1980 to 1998. He served as a line judge in Super Bowl XXX. Orem wore uniform number 51 (currently worn by Carl Cheffers) for the major part of his career. He and his family (including his late wife,Kay) have operated the Locker Room Sporting Goods store in Jeffersonville since the early 1960s.
Dale Orem's service in public office began with a four-year duration on the Jeffersonville city council in 1968 to 1972 and extended to his two terms as mayor in 1984 to 1991. He has also been involved in many local civic organizations such as the Jeffersonville Jaycees,Jeffersonville Optimist Club,KIDPA,Red Cross,and Jeff Main Street. [4] Prior to his retirement,he also served as chairman for Heritage Bank of Southern Indiana [5] and was the founding executive director (in 1991) of the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana. In 2003,he received the school's highest honor,the Indiana University Southeast Chancellor's Medallion,for work done with the school and in other civic organizations.[ citation needed ]
Jeffersonville is a city and the county seat of Clark County,Indiana,United States,situated along the Ohio River. Locally,the city is often referred to by the abbreviated name Jeff. It lies directly across the Ohio River to the north of Louisville,Kentucky,along I-65. The population was 49,447 at the 2020 census.

John Alexander Robinson is an American former football coach best known for his two stints as head coach of the University of Southern California (USC) football team and for his tenure as head coach of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams (1983–1991). Robinson's USC teams won four Rose Bowls and captured a share of the national championship in the 1978 season. Robinson is one of the few college football head coaches to have non-consecutive tenure at the same school. In 2009,he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.

He is currently an administrative assistant for the Louisiana State University football program after previously serving as quarterbacks coach for the Tigers football team. Reitz Memorial High School or simply Memorial High School (MHS) is an inter-parochial Catholic high school on the east side of Evansville,Indiana. It sits on land bought with money donated by Francis Joseph Reitz in 1922 in memory of his parents,John Augustus and Gertrude Reitz. The school officially opened its doors on January 5,1925. Jerry Markbreit is a former American football referee in the National Football League (NFL) for 23 seasons and became one of the most recognizable referees in the game. Markbreit officiated football games for 33 seasons. From 1965 to 1975,Markbreit officiated college football games in the Big Ten Conference. He then joined the NFL in 1976 as a line judge on the crew of Tommy Bell before being promoted to the head referee position in just his second year. His uniform number in the league was 9,which is now worn by Mark Perlman. In his 23 seasons in the NFL,Markbreit had 25 postseason assignments:two wild card games,10 divisional games,eight conference championships,one Pro Bowl (1978),and four Super Bowls and was an alternate in Super Bowl XIX,Super Bowl XXII,and Super Bowl XXVIII. To date,he is the only NFL head referee to officiate four Super Bowl games.
Thomas Jefferson Brookshier was an American professional football player,coach,and sportscaster. He was a starting defensive back for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons,from 1953 to 1961. He later paired with Pat Summerall on the primary broadcast team for NFL games on CBS during the 1970s.

Jeffersonville High School is a public high school located in Jeffersonville,Indiana. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12 from Jeffersonville,Utica,and sections of Clarksville not covered by that town's own high school. The school's enrollment for the 2014–2015 school year was 2,051 students,with 123 teachers. The current principal is Pam Hall. The Indiana Hoosiers football program represents Indiana University Bloomington in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision college football and in the Big Ten Conference. The Hoosiers have played their home games at Memorial Stadium since 1960. The team has won the Big Ten Championship twice,once in 1945 and again in 1967. The Hoosiers have appeared in 12 bowl games,including the 1968 Rose Bowl. Six Indiana players have been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame,including Zora Clevinger,Bill Ingram,Pete Pihos,George Taliaferro,John Tavener,and Anthony Thompson,who was also National Player of the Year in 1989. The Hoosiers are currently led by head coach Curt Cignetti. Currently,the Indiana Hoosiers hold the record for most lifetime losses by a Division I team (713),and the third worst winning percentage (42%) of any Division I team with over 1000 games played. Since 1895,only six of the 25 head coaches have left Indiana University with a winning record. The last one being Bo McMillan in 1947.
Thomas R. Galligan is a former three-term mayor of Jeffersonville,Indiana,United States,serving from 1996 to 2003 and again from 2008 to 2011. Galligan succeeded incumbent Raymond Parker Jr. in the 1995 mayoral election and was unseated by challenger,Rob Waiz,during the 2003 election. Galligan defeated Waiz during the 2007 election and was defeated by Clark County Commissioner,Mike Moore,during the 2011 election.
Jeffrey Scott Brohm is an American football coach and former quarterback. He is the head football coach at his alma mater,the University of Louisville,a position he has held since the 2023 season. Brohm played college football for the Louisville Cardinals under coach Howard Schnellenberger from 1989 to 1993. He played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons from 1994 to 2000 and the XFL in 2001. Brohm served as the head football coach at Western Kentucky University from 2014 to 2016 and Purdue University from 2017 to 2022.

Marvin Dale Jones is an American football coach and former player. He was most recently the defensive coordinator for Appalachian State. He served in various capacities for Appalachian State (1996–2022),including three years as defensive coordinator (2010–2012). Jones previously worked as a defensive coordinator for Georgia Military College (1992–1996) and the Parma Panthers (1990) of the Italian Football League (IFL).
