Daniel Victor Lauwers [1] (born January 15,1963) is a member of the Michigan Senate,representing the 25th district. He previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives and represented the 81st district,made up of the areas just south of Port Huron,Michigan along the St. Clair River,that are functional suburbs of Detroit with additional business related to the water tourism,combined with an inland area to the west of Port Huron that is largely still rural farm country with small towns that largely function as trade centers,and only very limited influx of commuters to the Metro-Detroit area.
Lauwers comes from the more rural western portion of the district,and has a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from Michigan State University. Lauwers owns Eastern Michigan Grain. He was a legislative assistant to Bill Schuette when Schutte was in the US House of Representatives. Lauwers was first elected to the state house in 2012. He also runs Nick Lauwers Farms with his son Nick. [2]
The Thumb is a region and a peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan,so named because the Lower Peninsula is shaped like a mitten. She also served as the Harrison Township Supervisor.

Michigan's 7th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Southern Michigan and portions of Central Michigan. From 2004 to 2013 it consisted of all of Branch,Eaton,Hillsdale,Jackson,and Lenawee counties,and included most of Calhoun and a large portion of western and northern Washtenaw counties. The current district,which was created in 2022,is centered around Lansing,Michigan's state capital,and includes all of Clinton,Shiawassee,Ingham,and Livingston counties,as well as portions of Eaton and Oakland counties.
The 2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Michigan were held on November 6,2018,to elect the 14 U.S. representatives from the state of Michigan,one from each of the state's 14 congressional districts. The elections coincided with the elections of other offices,including a gubernatorial election,other elections to the House of Representatives,elections to the United States Senate,and various state and local elections. The filing deadline for candidates filing for the August 7 primary was April 24,2018. Unless otherwise indicated,the Cook Political Report rated the congressional races as safe for the party of the incumbent.

Michigan's 25th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 25th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution,as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Republican Dan Lauwers since 2019,succeeding fellow Republican Phil Pavlov.
