Rosemary K. Bayer [1] (born January 2,1959) [2] is a Democratic member of the Michigan Senate,representing the 13th district since 2023.
Before being elected to the state legislature,Bayer worked as a computer engineer and analyst. She serves on the board of directors for SheHive and co-founded the Michigan Council of Women in Technology. [3] [4]
Deborah Ann Stabenow is an American politician serving as the senior United States senator from Michigan,a seat she has held since 2001. A member of the Democratic Party,she became the state's first female U.S. senator after winning the 2000 election.

Michigan's 8th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Central Michigan. The district was first created in 1873,after redistricting following the 1870 census. From 2003 to 2013,it consisted of all of Clinton,Ingham,and Livingston counties,and included the southern portion of Shiawassee and the northern portion of Oakland counties. From 2013 to 2023,the district no longer covered Clinton or Shiawassee counties and instead covered more of Oakland County,including Rochester. In 2023,the district was redrawn to be centered on the city of Flint,and includes all of Saginaw and Bay counties,almost all of Genesee County,and portions of Midland and Tuscola counties.

The 2022 Michigan gubernatorial election took place on November 8,2022,to elect the governor of Michigan. Incumbent Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer ran for re-election to a second term and faced former political commentator Tudor Dixon in the general election. Whitmer defeated Dixon by a margin of 10.6 percentage points,a wider margin than polls indicated as well as a wider margin than Whitmer's first victory four years prior. Incumbent President Joe Biden is running for re-election with Vice President Kamala Harris returning as his running mate. On March 12,Biden secured enough delegates for re-nomination and was declared the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party.
