The ninth series of Dancing with the Stars premiered on 24 April 2022 on Three.

The series will be hosted by Clint Randell and Sharyn Casey. Camilla Sacre-Dallerup will return to the judging panel as head judge, while James Luck and Lance Savali will join the judging panel for their first series. [1] Sacre-Dallerup contracted Covid-19 and was replaced in the final programme by Karen Hardy. [2]

The full cast was announced on 3 April. It was also announced that Eli Matthewson and Jonny Williams would make history by being the first same-sex partnership of the series.

Production

In December 2019, it was that announced that a ninth series would air on Three in 2020. [3] On 11 February 2020, it was announced that former contestant Laura Daniel would be replacing Rachel White on the judging panel for the ninth series. [4] On 23 February 2020, The New Zealand Herald reported that Destiny Church Pastor and Vision NZ leader Hannah Tamaki was tipped to join the series. [5] After major backlash online, MediaWorks confirmed that Tamaki would no longer be joining the series. In the same statement, they confirmed that the cast announcement for the ninth series was scheduled for the end of March 2020. [6] However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand, the series was postponed indefinitely. [7] In March 2022 it was confirmed that the show would return later that year.

Strictly Come Dancing is a British dance contest show in which celebrities partner with professional dancers to compete in mainly ballroom and Latin dance. Each couple is scored by a panel of judges. The title of the show is a continuation of the long-running series Come Dancing. Dancing with the Stars is a New Zealand television dance contest based on the British series Strictly Come Dancing. The show introduces New Zealand celebrities paired with professional ballroom dancers who each week compete against each other in a competition to impress a panel of judges and the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination. Rachel White is a professional dancer. A two-time New Zealand Professional Latin Champion, White was the co-owner of JustDance studio in Los Angeles, and a judge on the television series Dancing With the Stars New Zealand.

Dancing with the Stars returned for a fourth series which began on 5 January 2020 on RTÉ One.

The thirteenth season of Let's Dance started on February 21, 2020, and ended on May 22, 2020, on RTL. Daniel Hartwich and Victoria Swarovski returned as hosts. Joachim Llambi, Motsi Mabuse and Jorge Gonzalez returned as the judges.

Dancing with the Stars returned for a fifth series on 9 January 2022 on RTÉ One. This was the first series in two years after the show was put on a year-long hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

<i>Dancing with the Stars</i> (American TV series) season 31 Season of television series

The thirty-first season of Dancing with the Stars premiered on Disney+ on September 19, 2022, and concluded on November 21, 2022. This season marked the first live competition show to air on the streaming platform and the first season to not air on ABC. Tyra Banks returned as host, while season 19 champion Alfonso Ribeiro joined as co-host.

The twelfth season of Danse avec les stars premiered in September 2022 on TF1, hosted by Camille Combal.
