Daniel Jan "Danie" Venter (born 27 March 1979) is a South African professional boxer who fought from 2003 to 2016. As an amateur, he competed in the men's light heavyweight event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. [1] [2]

Jan Albert Venter is a South African swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. Venter won a bronze medal, as a member of the South African team, in the 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. He also helped his team to claim the title in the same relay distance at the 2011 All-Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique, posting a meet record time of 7:33.63.

Johan Du Preez is a former sprinter. He competed for Rhodesia in the men's 100 metres and men's 200 metres at the 1964 Summer Olympics. Representing Rhodesia and Nyasaland, he won a bronze medal in the 220 yards at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. In 1962, he also finished fourth in the 4 × 110 yards relay and was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 100 yards in Perth.

Michael Daniel “Danie” Burger was a South African hurdler. He competed in the men's 110 metres hurdles at the 1956 Summer Olympics. He won a silver medal in the pole vault at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, representing Rhodesia and Nyasaland. He also finished fourth in the 4 × 110 yards relay at the 1962 Games.

Danie Jacobs was a South African middle-distance runner. He competed in the men's 1500 metres at the 1928 Summer Olympics.

Pieter Aldrich and Danie Visser were the defending champions, but Aldrich did not compete this year. Visser teamed up with Neil Broad and lost in semifinals to Jan Siemerink and Daniel Vacek.
