Daniel Tschofenig (born 28 March 2002) [1] is a ski jumper from Austria.
He is a member of the Slovenian minority in Austria. [2] He became the first ski jumper born in the 21st century to stand on a World Cup podium, win a competition, and triumph in the Four Hills Tournament.
Tschofenig participated at the 2021 Junior World Championships in Lahti, Finland and finished at the fourth place in individual normall hill competition, and won the gold medal at the team event. [3] [4]
On the next year Tschofenig won three gold medals (individual, team and mixed team) at the 2022 Junior World Championships in Zakopane, Poland. [5] [6]
His debut in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup took place in January 2021 in Bischofshofen. As of 2024 [update] , he has 17 podiums in the World Cup, including an individual win in Wisła and several wins with the Austrian team. He also finished 3rd at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2023 – Men's team large hill. [1]

Simon Ammann is a Swiss ski jumper. He is one of the most successful athletes in the history of the sport, having won four individual Winter Olympic gold medals in 2002 and 2010. His other achievements include winning the 2007 Ski Jumping World Championships, the 2010 Ski Flying World Championships, the 2010 Nordic Tournament, and the 2010 Ski Jumping World Cup overall title.
Thomas Morgenstern is an Austrian former ski jumper who competed from 2002 to 2014. He is one of the most successful ski jumpers of all time, having won the World Cup overall title twice with 23 individual wins, the Four Hills Tournament and the Nordic Tournament once each, eight World Championship gold medals, and three Winter Olympic gold medals.
Noriaki Kasai is a Japanese ski jumper. His career achievements include a gold medal at the 1992 Ski Flying World Championships, winning the 1999 Nordic Tournament, individual silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and two individual bronze medals at the 2003 Ski Jumping World Championships.
Anssi Einar Koivuranta is a retired Finnish ski jumper and former Nordic combined skier, best known for winning the 2008–09 FIS Nordic Combined World Cup. He won the gold medal in the 4 × 5 km team event and a bronze medal in the 15 km Gundersen race at the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo. After winning a Ski Jumping World Cup competition in Innsbruck on 4 January 2014, Koivuranta became the first ever athlete in history of ski jumping to win an event in both Nordic combined and the ski jumping World Cup.
Andreas Felder is an Austrian former ski jumper. During this period he dominated the sport, together with contemporaries Jens Weißflog and Matti Nykänen. He finished in the top three overall six times in the World Cup and won the 1990/91 overall. He won his first international championship medal at the 1982 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo with a silver medal in the team large hill event.
Gregor Schlierenzauer is an Austrian former ski jumper who competed from 2006 to 2021. He is one of the most successful ski jumpers of all time, having won the Ski Jumping World Cup overall title, the Four Hills Tournament, and Nordic Tournament twice each; the Ski Flying World Cup overall title three times; as well as four medals at the Winter Olympics, twelve at the Ski Jumping World Championships, and five at the Ski Flying World Championships.
Kamil Wiktor Stoch is a Polish ski jumper. He is one of the most successful ski jumpers in the history of the sport, having won two World Cup titles, three Four Hills Tournaments, three individual gold medals at the Winter Olympics, individual and team gold at the Ski Jumping World Championships, and individual silver at the Ski Flying World Championships. His other tournament wins include Raw Air (twice), the Willingen Five, and Planica7.
Piotr Paweł Żyła is a Polish ski jumper. He is a member of the national team and competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He is the 2021 and 2023 World Champion on the normal hill, a bronze medalist of 2017 World Championships in individual large hill event, 2017 World Champion and a two-time World Championship bronze medalist and in the team large hill event, also the two time Ski Flying World Championships bronze medalist in team.
The 2008–09 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 30th World Cup season in ski jumping and the 12th official World Cup season in ski flying. It began on 29 November 2008 at the Rukatunturi ski jumping hill in Kuusamo, Finland, and finished on 22 March 2009 at Planica, Slovenia.
Peter Prevc is a Slovenian former ski jumper. He won the 2016 Ski Jumping World Cup overall title and four Olympic medals, including gold at the 2022 Winter Olympics in the mixed team event. He also won the 2016 Four Hills Tournament, 2016 Ski Flying World Championships, and three consecutive Ski Flying World Cup overall titles. In addition, Prevc won two team events with the Slovenia national team at the Ski Flying World Championships, in 2022 and 2024.
Sara Takanashi is a Japanese ski jumper. She is one of the most successful female ski jumpers to date, as well as one of the most successful athletes in the history of the sport, having won four World Cup overall titles, seven World Championship medals, and a Winter Olympic medal. As of January 2025, Takanashi holds the record for the most individual World Cup wins, male or female, with 63. She also has three Guinness World Records certificates for the most podium finishes in the Ski Jumping World Cup, the most individual victories by a female in the Ski Jumping World Cup, and the most Ski Jumping World Cup individual victories in a career (overall).
Anže Lanišek is a Slovenian ski jumper.
Halvor Egner Granerud is a Norwegian ski jumper. He is one of the most successful contemporary ski jumpers, having won 25 World Cup individual competitions, the World Cup overall title twice, and the Four Hills Tournament once. At the Nordic World Ski Championships, Granerud's best achievements include silver medals in the team and mixed team competitions. He has also won team gold and individual silver at the Ski Flying World Championships.
Gyda Westvold Hansen is a Norwegian Nordic combined skier who represents IL Nansen. She became the first ever World Champion in women's Nordic combined after winning the gold medal in the inaugural World Championship race, individual normal hill/5 km, at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2021. She is the 2021 World Junior Champion in individual normal hill and won the silver medal at the same event in 2019 and 2020. Westvold Hansen was also a member of the Norwegian team that took the gold medal in the mixed team normal hill competition at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics.

The inaugural Mixed team normal hill competition of the Beijing 2022 Olympics was held on 7 February 2022 at the Snow Ruyi hill in Zhangjiakou.
Alexandria Loutitt is a Canadian ski jumper. She is the first ski jumper from Canada to win a gold medal at the World Championships and the first Canadian woman to win a World Cup individual competition.
