Darbhanga Metro is a proposed metro railway service in the city of Darbhanga in the Mithila region of Bihar. The proposal was proposed by the department of Urban Development and Housing Development of Bihar Government to provide facility of metro railway services in the four major metro cities Darbhanga, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cabinet has given its consent in principle to run a metro train in Darbhanga on 21 June 2024. [4] [5] In Darbhanga, the metro rail is expected to run from Darbhanga Airport, west of Darbhanga station, Mirzapur, DMCH Laheriyasarai and the last part of the city to Ekmighat. [1] The Government of Bihar has entrusted the task of finding out the feasibility of Darbhanga Metro operations to RITES Limited (Rail India Technical and Economic Service Ltd) which is a Navaratna Company of central government under Railway Ministry. Darbhanga is the fifth largest city and municipal corporation in the state of Bihar in India, and is considered an important city in North Bihar. It serves as the headquarters of the Darbhanga district and the Darbhanga division. It is held that the name Darbhanga has been derived from Dwar Banga or Dari – Banga, meaning the 'door of Bengal'.

The Bhoj Metro is an under construction rapid transit system intended to serve the city of Bhopal, India, the capital of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The total system consists of 6 corridors covering a distance of 104.87 kilometres (65.16 mi). Bapudham Motihari Railway Station is a major railway station in Motihari through which 2 lines pass one towards Muzaffarpur and other towards Sitamarhi via Sheohar, it lies in the headquarter city of East Champaran district of Bihar. Its station code is BMKI. The station mainly consists of four platforms and acts as the main station in the city of Motihari, which is being developed under 'The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme' and to celebrate 150 years of Mahatama Gandhi. In February 2022, the Indian Railways had planned to set up a railway station Development Corporation (RSDC) that would work on improving the major railway stations, including Bapudham Motihari, by building and improving passenger amenities.[4] Under the development scheme, major development works are going on Bapudham Motihari. Separate air conditioned waiting lounge, free WiFi facility, IRCTC food court and many facilities are going to be available on Bapudham Motihari at the end of 2024. To enhance the security of this station, a metal detector and baggage handling system will be installed soon.

The Uttarakhand Metro is a light rapid transit system proposed for the city of Dehradun, India. The proposal of the metro rail corridor from the Nepali Farm to the Vidhan Sabha in Dehradun district was approved. The Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (UMTA) approved 73 km long Deharadun–Haridwar–Rishikesh Metro Rail corridor in Uttarakhand in June 2020. The estimated cost of the project would be ₹ 40,150 crore. The decision was taken by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat who had chaired the meeting of UMTA.
