Dariusz Zielke (born 21 October 1960) is a Polish former athlete who specialised in the high jump. [2] He won a bronze medal at the Friendship Games which were organised in 1984 for countries that boycotted the 1984 Summer Olympics.

His personal bests in the event are 2.31 metres outdoors (Warsaw 1984) and 2.28 metres indoors (Handen 1986).

His brother, Piotr Zielke, was also a high jumper.

The 110 metres hurdles, or 110-metre hurdles, is a hurdling track and field event for men. It is included in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympic Games. The female counterpart is the 100 metres hurdles. As part of a racing event, ten hurdles of 42 inches (106.7 cm) in height are evenly spaced along a straight course of 110 metres. They are positioned so that they will fall over if bumped into by the runner. Fallen hurdles do not carry a fixed time penalty for the runners, but they have a significant pull-over weight which slows down the run. Like the 100 metres sprint, the 110 metres hurdles begins in the starting blocks.

Tamara Vladimirovna Bykova is a Russian former track and field athlete who represented the Soviet Union and competed in the high jump. She is the 1983 World Champion, the 1987 World Championship silver medallist, the 1988 Olympic bronze medallist, and is a former world record holder, with clearances of 2.03 and 2.04 metres in 1983 and 2.05 metres in 1984. The event was won by Joe DeLoach of the United States, beating his teammate and defending champion Carl Lewis by 0.04 seconds in the final. The defeat ended Lewis's hopes of repeating his 1984 quadruple, despite running the final under his own Olympic record time. It was the United States' 14th victory in the men's 200 metres. Lewis was the seventh man to win multiple medals in the event, matching Andy Stanfield for the best result to that point. Robson da Silva earned Brazil's first medal in the event with his bronze.

Alan Blair Thompson is a sprint canoeist who competed in the early to mid-1980s. He competed at three Olympic Games (1980–1988) and won two Olympic gold medals for New Zealand.

Harold Thompson Mann was an American competition swimmer, Olympic champion, and world record-holder. Douglas Nordquist is a retired male high jumper from the United States, who competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics where he ended up in fifth place with a jump of 2.29 metres, one place behind distant cousin Dwight Stones. He was TAC high jump champion in 1986 and 1988, and placed second at the 1984 Olympic Trials behind Stones. He competed for Sonora High School, finishing a three-way tie for third place at the 1977 CIF California State Meet. While at Fullerton Community College he won the 1979 California Community College Championships, Washington State University where he was coached by 1968 Olympian Rick Sloan. After graduation he was coached by Jim Kiefer and competed for and Tiger International. He was a practitioner of Washington State's specialized weight training for high jumpers He set his personal record of 2.36m while finishing second in a jumpoff at the USATF National Championships at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California on June 15, 1990. Alan Hankle and Athleticorp was his coach.
