Marvel vs. Capcom is a series of crossover fighting games developed and published by Capcom, featuring characters from their video game franchises and comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The series originated as coin-operated arcade games; later releases were specifically developed for home consoles, handhelds, and personal computers.
Ryu is a character and the protagonist of Capcom's Street Fighter series. Introduced in Street Fighter (1987), Ryu appears as the game's lead character alongside his best friend and friendly rival Ken Masters. Other games in the series show Ryu's training and dedication to be the strongest fighter he can be, befriending new fighters. Unable to control his dark nature, Ryu develops two alter egos: Evil Ryu, and Kage-naru mono or simply Kage. Mastering the dark nature is Ryu's main objective in order to become stronger. Ryu has appeared as a playable character in several crossover games involving the franchise, including the Marvel vs. Capcom series, SNK vs. Capcom, Project X Zone, and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He has also appeared in manga and anime adaptations, as well as the 1994 live-action film.
Darkstalkers, known in Japan as Vampire (ヴァンパイア), is a fighting game series and media franchise created by Capcom. The series is set in a pastiche gothic fiction universe with characters based on monsters from international folklore, and features a stylized 2D graphic style. Its first game, Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, was released in arcades in 1994 and its third and final main game is Vampire Savior, released in 1997. Darkstalkers introduced gameplay concepts used in later Capcom fighting games, including the Street Fighter Alpha and Marvel vs. Capcom series.
Elena is a character in Capcom's Street Fighter fighting game series who made her first appearance in Street Fighter III: New Generation in 1997. A woman with close direct ties to nature, she is the daughter of a Kenyan tribal leader who travels the world to make friends while attending school abroad. Since her debut, she has since appeared in various other media such as comics and manga. She was later included in Street Fighter IV's third upgrade, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and as part of the "Year 2" downloadable content lineup for 2024's Street Fighter 6. She has been voiced by Karen Dyer in English, and Kaoru Fujino, Mie Midori, and Saki Fujita in Japanese.
X-Men: Children of the Atom is a 1994 fighting game developed and published by Capcom and released on the CP System II arcade hardware. It was released in December 1994 in Japan and in January 1995 in North America and Europe.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, released in Japan as Super Puzzle Fighter II X, is a tile-matching puzzle video game released in 1996 for the CP System II (CPS2) arcade board, by Capcom and its Capcom Coin-Op division. The game's title is a play on Super Street Fighter II Turbo, as there were no other Puzzle Fighter games at the time, and the game includes music and interface elements spoofing the Street Fighter Alpha and Darkstalkers games. It was a response to Sega's Puyo Puyo 2 that had been sweeping the Japanese arcade scene.
Toshiaki Mori, best known under the pen name of Shinkiro, is a Japanese illustrator and conceptual artist who used to work for SNK and is currently employed by Capcom.
Red Earth, released in Japan as Warzard, is a fantasy-themed 2D fighting game released by Capcom as an arcade game in 1996. It was the first game for Capcom's CP System III hardware, the same hardware which Street Fighter III and its derivatives ran on. Red Earth received its first home console port as a part of the Capcom Fighting Collection in June 2022 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, known in Japan as Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers' Revenge, is a 1995 arcade fighting game produced by Capcom and the second in the Darkstalkers series, following Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors (1994). Darkstalkers' Revenge was ported to the Sega Saturn home console in 1996 and was later followed by a sequel, Vampire Savior / Darkstalkers 3 (1997).
Darkstalkers 3 is a 1997 fighting game by Capcom, originally released on the CP System II arcade system as Vampire Savior. The third and final title in the Darkstalkers series following 1995's Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, its story centers around a demonic nobleman from Makai named Jedah Dohma, who creates a pocket dimension named Majigen where he tries to bring in souls to help nourish his new world. It was critically and commercially well-received.

Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, also released as Pocket Fighter, is a 1997 fighting video game produced by Capcom for the CPS II arcade system. The game uses the same super deformed character designs previously used in Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, a puzzle game by Capcom. It was ported in 1998 to the PlayStation, which retained the Pocket Fighter title for its North American and PAL releases, and then the Sega Saturn and WonderSwan, both in Japan only.
