Daryl Lipsey (born 26 June 1963) is a Canadian professional player and coach of ice hockey. Apart from two professional seasons in Canada he has played the majority of his career in the United Kingdom (from 1984 to 1997). Although he retired as a player in 1997, he continued to coach until 2005. He is also known under the nickname "Mr. Swindon Hockey" after being the Swindon ice hockey team's player-coach for 9 seasons and their head coach for one season.
Lipsey began his career playing with the Battleford Barons of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in 1982–83. He then played just one more season in Canada with the North Battleford North Stars before leaving Canada to join Bournemouth Stags of the British Hockey League in England. He spent two seasons with the Stags before joining the Swindon Wildcats for the 1986–1987 season. He played and coached the Wildcats for nine seasons. In 1995–96, he joined the Manchester Storm in the position of player and assistant coach. [1]
He ended his playing career during the 1996-1997 Ice Hockey Superleague season, but continued on the team staff for Manchester Storm for six seasons, and the Swindon Wildcats' team staff for two years. His coaching career finished at Swindon in the 2004-2005 EPIHL season, then Lipsey became Swindon's "team consultant" for one more season before retiring completely from the sport. [2]

The Manchester Storm were an ice hockey team from Manchester, England. The team formed in 1995, playing their home games at the then newly built NYNEX Arena, but they folded during the 2002–03 season.
The Milton Keynes Lightning are an ice hockey team founded in 2002 and then again in 2019 in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. The Lightning currently play in Britain's second-tier professional league, the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL), since the 2019–20 season. The Lightning previously turned up in the top tier Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) from 2017–2019, and the tier-3/tier-2 English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL) from 2002–2017. Their home rink is 2,200-seat Planet Ice Arena Milton Keynes, known locally as the MK Arena or the Thunderdome.
The Swindon Wildcats are a professional ice hockey team based in Swindon, Wiltshire, England. They play in the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL). Since their inception, the Wildcats have played their home games at the 1600-capacity Link Centre in West Swindon. The club was founded in 1986 as the Swindon Wildcats, shortly after the opening of the Link Centre.
The Telford Tigers are a National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) ice hockey team that formed in 1985. After initially closing in 1999, a new team, under the name 'Telford Wild Foxes', was formed in 2001; and re-adopted the original name in 2005.
Paul Gordon Baxter is a Canadian former ice hockey defenceman who played in the World Hockey Association from 1974 to 1979, the National Hockey League from 1979 to 1987. He featured in the 1986 Stanley Cup Finals with the Calgary Flames. He then worked as an assistant coach for eleven seasons.
Nelson Donald Emerson is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger. He played for eight teams in the National Hockey League during his 12-year career, which lasted from 1990 to 2002.
Dane K. Jackson is a Canadian coach and former professional ice hockey right wing who spent parts of four seasons in the National Hockey League between 1993 and 1998. Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, he spent four years at the University of North Dakota before making his professional debut for the Canucks' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in 1992. Jackson made his NHL debut in 1993, and would split the next two seasons between the Canucks and their AHL affiliates, the Hamilton Canucks and Syracuse Crunch. He joined the Buffalo Sabres in 1995, though spent most of the next two years with their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, and in 1997 signed with the New York Islanders. Jackson spent the final six seasons of his playing career in the AHL, moving between the Americans, Lowell Lock Monsters, and Manchester Monarchs, before retiring in 2003. Since then he has worked as a coach, and has been on the coaching staff of North Dakota since 2006.
