Dashdendev Makhashiri (born 13 January 1969) is a retired Mongolian athlete who specialised in the discus throw. [1] He represented his country at the 1996 Summer Olympics, as well as three consecutive World Championships starting in 1993.

The discus throw, also known as disc throw, is a track and field sport in which the participant athlete throws an oblate spheroid weight — called a discus — in an attempt to mark a further distance than other competitors. It is an ancient sport, as demonstrated by the fifth-century-BC Myron statue Discobolus. Although not part of the current pentathlon, it was one of the events of the ancient Greek pentathlon, which can be dated back to at least 708 BC, and it is part of the modern decathlon.
Rutger Smith is a retired Dutch track and field athlete who competed in the shot put and discus throw. He is the first athlete to win medals at the World Championships in both events. He represented the Netherlands at the Summer Olympics in 2004, 2008 and 2012. His personal best of 21.62 m for the shot put is the Dutch national record.
Maria Geertruida "Ria" Stalman is a Dutch retired discus thrower and shot putter.
Piotr Małachowski is a Polish retired discus thrower, two-time silver medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. His personal best throw is 71.84 metres, ranks him fifth in all-time longest discus throw distances, achieved on 8 June 2013 at Hengelo, the Netherlands.
The Men's Discus Throw event at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Olympic Stadium on August 18 and August 19.
Apostolos Parellis is a Cypriot track and field athlete specializing in discus throw. He is the current Cypriot national record holder with 66.32 m since October 2019.
Tereapii Tapoki is a female discus thrower from the Cook Islands. At age twenty, Tapoki made her official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she competed in the women's discus throw. She placed fortieth in the qualifying rounds of the competition, with a throw of 48.12 metres.

Alexander Melei Rose is a Samoan and American athlete, competing primarily in the discus throw and occasionally in the shot put and the hammer throw. He represented Samoa at the 2016 Olympics, and 2020 Summer Olympics, as well as the Commonwealth Games and Pacific Games.
