David Alan Johnson (born May 29, 1964) is an American rifle shooter who won a gold medal in the 10 m air rifle at the 1991 Pan American Games. Next year he competed at the same event at the 1992 Olympics and finished in 11th place. [1]

Johnson started training in shooting in 1972 at the Langley Junior rifle club in Virginia, and continued through his graduation from Hampton High School in 1982. [2] In 1986, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from West Virginia University. [2] After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Reserves and became a member of the marksmanship unit. Since early 2000s he trained the National Rifle Team, preparing it for the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics. [3] [2]

He is the first Indian to have held concurrently the world and Olympic titles for the men's 10-meter air rifle event, having earned those honors at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships. Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Charles Jackson was an American competitive sport shooter. In his international career, he won numerous medals across three Summer Olympic Games, three ISSF World Shooting Championships, and two editions of the Pan American Games. He began shooting in the seventh grade and joined the rifle team at Brooklyn Technical High School in 1934. He competed in local and regional tournaments prior to World War II, during which he worked at the Sperry Corporation and later served as a bombardier in the Pacific Theater of Operations. His first international tournament was the 1948 Summer Olympics and his last was the 1956 edition, at which point he began a career in public service with the Central Intelligence Agency in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He stopped competing at the international level in 1957 and retired from the CIA at the end of 1974. After several years as an instructor and coach, he continued participating in smaller tournaments through the 1990s.

He was the oldest athlete to compete at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He won the silver medal in the 50 metre rifle prone competition at the 1995 Pan American Games.

Kenneth Alden "Ken" Johnson is an American sport shooter. He tied for 38th place in the men's 10 metre air rifle event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He is the husband of Olympic gold medalist Nancy Johnson.
