  1. Although John Schneider (who was serving as manager of the Blue Jays when Davis Schneider made his MLB debut) was also born in New Jersey, there is no known blood relationship between the two men.
  2. The only other major-leaguer to record nine hits in his first three games was Coaker Triplett of the Chicago Cubs, who did it in April 1938 against the Cincinnati Reds. Triplett had two doubles and a triple, but no home runs. [8]
