Oludayo Koleosho (born 1984) is an English actor. After making appearances in the BBC medical series Holby City and Doctors , he embarked on a theatre career. Koleosho appeared in various theatre productions before returning to television, appearing in Strike and Casualty . Then in 2024, he was cast in the BBC soap opera EastEnders as Kojo Asare.

Life and career

Oludayo Koleosho was born in 1984 in Stoke Newington in the London Borough of Hackney. He is autistic. [1] He attended Access All Areas, a theatre group in Hackney for adults with learning disabilities led by the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. [2] He made his professional acting debut in a 2010 episode of the BBC medical drama series Holby City . [3] A year later, he appeared in fellow BBC medical series Doctors . He appeared alongside Access All Areas classmate Yvonne Swift in a storyline that saw them portray a married couple. The pair had their first on-screen kiss with each other, to which Koleosho said: "I had to kiss Yvonne. At first I thought 'oh no', but you just have to get on with it". [2] In 2014, he made his stage debut in Eye Queue Hear, which toured the UK. [4]

In 2016, Koleosho appeared in an episode of the Channel 4 sitcom Damned . [5] In 2018, he performed in Madness at the Lowry Theatre, as well as #crazyfuturelove at the Battersea Arts Centre a year later. [4] In 2019 and again from 2021 to 2024, Koleosho toured the UK and Europe in productions of Faith, Hope and Charity. In 2022, he had a recurring role in the BBC drama series Strike , [6] appearing in the BBC's medical drama Casualty the following year. [1] [7] In 2024, he was cast in the BBC soap opera EastEnders . [8] Appearing in the regular role of Kojo Asare, he made his first appearance on 27 August 2024. [9] He was introduced as the brother of established character George Knight (Colin Salmon). [10]

<i>Holby City</i> British medical drama television series

Holby City is a British medical drama television series that aired weekly on BBC One. It was created by Tony McHale and Mal Young as a spin-off from the established BBC medical drama Casualty, and premiered on 12 January 1999; the show ran until 29 March 2022. It follows the lives of medical and ancillary staff at the fictional Holby City Hospital, the same hospital as Casualty, in the fictional city of Holby, and features occasional crossovers of characters and plots with both Casualty and the show's 2007 police procedural spin-off HolbyBlue. It began with eleven main characters in its first series, all of whom subsequently left the show. New main characters were then periodically written in and out, with a core of around fifteen main actors employed at any given time. In casting the first series, Young sought actors who were already well known in the television industry, something which has continued throughout its history, with cast members including Patsy Kensit, Jane Asher, Robert Powell, Ade Edmondson and John Michie.

Alex Newcombe Walkinshaw is a British actor. He has played the long-running roles of Dale "Smithy" Smith in the ITV police procedural series The Bill and Adrian "Fletch" Fletcher in BBC medical dramas Casualty and Holby City. The first series of the British medical drama television series Holby City commenced airing in the United Kingdom on BBC One on 12 January 1999, and concluded on 9 March 1999. The show was created by Mal Young and Tony McHale as a spin–off from the BBC medical drama Casualty, intended to follow the treatment of patients from Casualty as they were transferred onto the hospital's surgical wards. McHale served as the programme's lead writer throughout the first series, which ran for nine episodes. Young cast actors who were already established names in the acting industry, particularly from a soap opera background. Several cast members shadowed real surgeons and nurses in preparation for their roles to increase the show's realism. The series received mixed reviews from critics. It was compared favourably with Casualty, but received negative reviews in which it was contrasted poorly with the American medical drama ER. The series première attracted 10.72 million viewers, falling to 8.51 million by the series finale.

Davood Ghadami is an English actor. Following his appearances in Taggart in 2010, he appeared in the BBC medical programmes Doctors and Casualty in recurring roles. In 2014, he began portraying the role of Kush Kazemi in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, a role he stayed in until 2021 when the character was killed off. George Knight (<i>EastEnders</i>) Fictional character from EastEnders

George Knight is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Colin Salmon. George was introduced by executive producer Chris Clenshaw in episode 6,708, broadcast on 1 June 2023, as the patriarch of the Knight family. Initially billed as a charismatic ex-boxer and protective father, the character debuted alongside his girlfriend Elaine Peacock and daughters Gina and Anna. Milo Clarke is an English actor. Following stage roles including 27 Wagons Full of Cotton, 24 Italian Songs and Arias, The Alchemist and The Play That Goes Wrong, Clarke was cast in the BBC medical drama series as Teddy Gowan in 2021.
