Deathwatch is an unreleased run and gun platform video game that was in development by Data Design Interactive and planned to be published by Atari Corporation on a scheduled December 1995 release date exclusively for the Atari Jaguar. [3] [4] It was the only game in development by DDI for the system.
Taking control of an anthropomorphic bug character wielding a gun, players would have needed to traverse through multiple levels while fighting against enemies and avoiding obstacles along the way. Deathwatch was demonstrated during the first Electronic Entertainment Expo held in 1995, featuring a visual style similar to that of Plok on the Super NES. [5] [6]
Atari Corp. halted and terminated development of Deathwatch along with multiple upcoming projects for the platform in March 1996, [7] before merging with JT Storage in a reverse takeover the next month of the same year, [8] [9] while the game's source code has become lost with time. [10]
Deathwatch is a side-scrolling run and gun platform game where players would have taken the role of an anthropomorphic bug character who wields a gun for defensive purposes and capable of making double jumps in order to traverse across various levels, each one featuring their own set of obstacles and thematic, while shooting at enemies to avoid taking damage and collecting items along the way. Players would have also need to collect power-ups in the level to change the character's in-game appearance. [6] [11]
Deathwatch was first showcased to the public at Atari Corporation's booth during E3 1995, featuring an artstyle similar to that of Plok, a platform title developed by Software Creations and released for the Super NES two years prior, while French magazine CD Consoles referred it as SwitchDeath. [5] [6] [12] [13] It was listed for a December/Q4 1995 release in magazines, [14] [3] with internal documents from Atari Corp. also revealing that the game was internally known as The Bug. [15]
Though it was kept being advertised in catalogs and magazines for a late 1995 release, [11] [16] Atari halted its development before it was completed, with former DDI president and CEO Stewart Green stating in a 2003 forum post at AtariAge provided by community member panamajoe that the publisher's marketing department wanted to focus on 3D titles instead of 2D ones, in addition of stating that the source code of the game has become lost with time. [10] Atari would also stop production of other upcoming titles for the Jaguar before merging with JT Storage in April 1996, ultimately resulting with the game not being released. [8] [9]
Although a prototype cartridge is rumored to exist, [17] no ROM image of the title has managed to surface online. The only known gameplay footage of the game that exists as of date was shown by Atari Explorer Online on the "AEO at E3 1995" VHS release by Subspace Publishing. [5] [6]
The Jaguar is a home video game console developed by Atari Corporation and released in North America in November 1993. It is in the fifth generation of video game consoles, and it competed with fourth generation consoles released the same year, including the 16-bit Genesis, the 16-bit Super NES, and the 32-bit 3DO Interactive Multiplayer. Fight for Life is a 1996 fighting video game developed and published by Atari Corporation in North America and Europe for the Atari Jaguar. It was the final game to be developed and published by Atari themselves before dropping support for the platform and merging with JT Storage in a reverse takeover on July 30, 1996, and the last fighting title released for the console. Set in a purgatory dimension known as the Specter Zone, Fight for Life follows eight deceased fighters as they enter a tournament held by a shapeshifting being called the Gatekeeper, who will bestow a second chance at life to the winner. Its gameplay consists of one-on-one fights, with a main eight-button configuration, featuring special moves and the ability to customize character's movesets, as well as four different playable modes.
Barkley Shut Up and Jam! is a basketball video game originally developed and published by Accolade for the Sega Genesis on North America in March 1994 and later in Europe in April 1994. The game is the first entry in the Barkley Shut Up and Jam series, featuring former NBA MVP Charles Barkley prominently and as one of the playable characters.
Highlander: The Last of the MacLeods is an action-adventure video game developed by Lore Design Limited and published by Atari Corporation exclusively for the Atari Jaguar CD first in North America on 30 October 1995 and later in Europe on November of the same year. The first installment in a planned trilogy based upon Gaumont Television and Bohbot Entertainment's Highlander: The Animated Series, which was both a loose spin-off and sequel of the 1986 film of the same name, players assume the role of Quentin MacLeod in an effort to save the Dundee clan from slavers of the evil immortal Kortan. Its gameplay mainly consists of action and exploration with a main eight-button configuration.
Brett Hull Hockey is an ice hockey video game developed by Radical Entertainment and originally published by Accolade for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in North America in January 1994. It prominently features former Canadian-American NHL player Brett Hull and is officially licensed from the NHL Players' Association.

Rocky Interactive Horror Show is a point-and-click adventure game developed by On-Line Entertainment in conjunction with Transylvania Interactive and published by On-Line exclusively for Microsoft Windows. A spiritual successor to CRL Group's 1985 video game adaptation, it is the second video game to be released and based upon Richard O'Brien's musical of the same name, who is also a member of the cast. Following the plot from 20th Century Fox's 1975 musical horror comedy film of the same name, the player assume the role of either Brad Majors or Janet Weiss in order to rescue one of the two playable characters, who has been transformed into stone by Dr. Frank-N-Furter's Medusa Transducer, within a set time limit before the mansion becomes a spaceship and takes off to the planet Transsexual Transylvania.
