The Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (also known as Delta PDP) is the state level chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State, Nigeria. It is the current ruling political party in the southern oil-rich state and has produced governors since the advent of the fourth republic in 1999.

Ali Modu Sheriff is a Nigerian politician. He is Borno State's first governor to serve two consecutive terms (2003–2011). Emmanuel Uduaghan Nigerian politician

Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan was the Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015. He assumed office via an inconclusive election on 29 May 2007 and was a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). A medical doctor by profession, prior to becoming governor, he was the Commissioner for Health, Delta State and the Secretary to the State Government. Dr. Uduaghan ran again for governor in the 26 April 2011 elections, and was re-elected. until defeated in 2015 by Ifeanyi Okowa.

Stella Unuezi Omu is a Nigerian politician who was elected Senator on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform in 1999 for the Delta South Senatorial District of Delta State.

Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa was a Nigerian politician. He was appointed Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Nigeria in July 2005, and returned as Deputy Governor in the April 2007 elections. He was sworn in as Governor on 20 May 2010, replacing former governor Namadi Sambo who had been sworn in as vice president the day before. Yakowa successfully ran for election as Kaduna Governor in the 26 April 2011 polls.

Benedict Ayade Nigerian politician

Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade is a Nigerian politician and the current governor of Cross River State since 29 May 2015. He ran successfully for the office of governor in April 2015 on the platform of People's Democratic Party (PDP). Before that, he was a member of the 7th Senate of Nigeria. He was re-elected as the governor of Cross River State in the 2019 gubernatorial elections. Ayade, on Thursday, May 20, 2021, announced his defection to All Progressives Congress (APC) in Calabar, capital of the State, and was received by Yobe Governor and APC caretaker Committee Chair, Mai Mala Buni.

Ifeanyi Okowa

Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is a Nigerian politician who is the Governor of Delta State. He was inaugurated as a governor on 29 May 2015 after winning the state elections conducted in April 2015. Before his governorship, he was elected senator for Delta North Senatorial District in Delta State, Nigeria, in the April 2011 national elections. He ran on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform. He is an Ika from Owa-Alero in Delta State, Nigeria. He is also the first person from Anioma to clinch the governorship position of Delta State. He was re-elected as the governor of Delta State on May 29, 2019.

The Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, also referred to as Rivers PDP, is the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Nigeria. It is currently chaired by businessman and Philanthropist Felix Obuah. The PDP National Working Committee, also known by its acronym NWC, is the executive committee of the People's Democratic Party in Nigeria. The NWC is composed of 12 members, all of whom are elected to a four-year term at the party's National Convention. The NWC is headed by the Chairperson who also functions as the party's National Chair. The NWC has the responsibility for the day-to-day governance of the party as well as oversight of its national activities.

The PDP Governors Forum or PDPGF is a political and policy think tank consisting of the state governors affiliated with the People's Democratic Party in Nigeria. The Forum was formed on 24 February 2013 when it split away from the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF). Kingsley Esiso is a Nigerian lawyer and politician from Delta state. He is the Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Library Affairs. In May 2016, he was elected and currently serves as Chair of the Delta State People's Democratic Party.

Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi is a Nigerian politician. He is the senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. He is a senator of the 8th and 9th National Assembly. He was sacked shortly after being announced senator elect during the 2019 general elections by a Federal High Court in Abuja as Senator-elect on allegations that he was not validly elected by his political party. The Appeal Court in Abuja however overturned the decision on 30 May 2019. The lead judge held that the Federal High Court that nullified his election had no jurisdiction over the case.

The Young Progressives Party, commonly known as the YPP, is a social-democratic political party in Nigeria. The party was created to challenge the two major contemporary parties in Nigeria, namely the People's Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress. In its manifesto, it called for concerted efforts to improve welfare, fight for social justice and provide equality of opportunities for all citizens in Nigeria. The Young Progressive Party won one seat out of the 109 seats in the Nigerian Senate during the 2019 general elections.

The 2019 Delta State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. Incumbent PDP Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa won re-election for a second term, defeating APC's Great Ovedje Ogboru, and several minor party candidates.

The 2015 Delta State gubernatorial election was the 7th gubernatorial election of Delta State. Held on April 11, 2015, the People's Democratic Party nominee Ifeanyi Okowa won the election, defeating Great Ogboru of the LP.

The 2022 Ekiti State gubernatorial election will take place on June 18, 2022, to elect the Governor of Ekiti State. Incumbent APC Governor Kayode Fayemi is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

The 2023 Delta State gubernatorial election will take place on 11 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Delta State, concurrent with elections to the Delta State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election will be held two weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

2023 Nigerian Senate election Elections in Nigeria

The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections will be held on 25 February 2023 in all 109 senatorial districts where voters will elect senators using first-past-the-post voting. The last regular senatorial elections for all districts were in 2019.
