The Democratic Conviction [lower-alpha 1] (Albanian : Partia Bindja Demokratike, BD) is a political party in Albania that was registered on April 23, 2019, belongs to the center-right political spectrum. Its coordinator is Astrit Patozi. [6]

History

Democratic Conviction was created during the 2019 Albanian protests. [7] It participated in the 2021 Albanian parliamentary election, [8] winning 0.5% of the vote and no seats.

Astrit Patozi is an Albanian politician and former member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania. As one of the closest associates of former prime minister Sali Berisha, he served as deputy leader of the Democratic Party and also as head of its parliamentary group. On 23 April 2019, he became the coordinator of the newly born political party on the center-right of the Albanian political scene, Democratic Conviction.

On January 19, 2019 Bardhi was elected as General Secretary of the Democratic Party, defeating his opponent Dorjan Teliti by a vote of 277–44. Two years later, he was elected member of the assembly on September 10, 2021 to serve in the 31st legislature, representing the Democratic Party in Elbasan.
